Dutch producer @yannickroberts pops up on @freerangerecords fresh from his rather brilliant 'Staying Sane EP' on S3A which we covered last year. Featuring four tracks of Deep and Detroit-esque house music this EP is another huge step forward for Yannick, delivering a fully formed and lush club sound. 

Our premier from the EP today is 'Femme Fatale', deep throbbing basement music at it's finest. Hypnotic and euphoric synths, superb drum programming and pumping bass all combine for what is a rather spectacular dancefloor moment.

Freerange welcomes back dutch producer Yannick Roberts for his follow up to his 2022 I Can’t Hide From Myself EP.  That release gained club spins and chart support from the likes of Dave Lee, Jamie 3:26, Luke Solomon and Fred Everything and became a hit with lovers of deep, disco-influenced Detroit house sounds as championed by fellow countrymen such as Dam Swindle, Fouk and Nachtbraker.

Opening track Grace sets the tone with a chunky groover guaranteed to set the right mood on the dance floor.

Opening track Grace sets the tone with a chunky groover guaranteed to set the right mood on the dance floor. Next up Yannick picks up the pace with Anyone (This Late At Night Mix) which uses syncopated synth stabs and a simple two note bassline to create peak time energy levels. Amsterdam Nights keeps things bubbling along nicely with fat 909 beats, piano stabs, and intense vocal samples while the EP closes out in fine fashion with All For You.  Four cuts which perfectly demonstrate Yannick’s knack for producing quality club tunes.

Yannick Roberts is mostly known for his releases on Freerange Records, but also released music under his former alias Ouvrijster on Sampling As An Art Records, Sleazy Beats and his own record label Dievegge Recordings since 2017. Yannick’s own take on the deep, disco-influenced Detroit House sound is warm and punchy. With sampling Soul and Disco records, he creates House music for the place where it belongs: sweaty dancefloors. Always with the utmost respect for where the music originated from and with the a philosophy on how House music should be celebrated. This is reflected in his DJ sets, where Yannick plays vinyl to create this space with warm sounds, solid grooves and yearning vocals.
