Not quite Hip Hop, House, Trap or dance or perhaps all of them and more. This playlist is for Electronica of a different breed! The kind you can't put your finger on and define as a single genre or style, electronica in it's purest form!

Experimental Instrumental

Reverb drenched synths and sampled scrap metal mash together with distorted bass and heavy drums to take the listener on a dark journey through abandoned buildings and ruins.

'Travel To The Outer Reaches' is a psych tinged soundtrack piece inspired by the sounds of David Axelrod and Pink Floyd. All instruments were played by Diger Rokwell (except the drums) Originally made for the upcoming 'Seeds' extend play, but it got lost in deep space and didn't make the cut. 

'Travel To The Outer Reaches' is to celebrate the 'not long to go' stage of new born life approaching, my mother's 70th birthday on Friday, and release information for my upcoming extended play 'Seeds'. I am definitely traveling to the outer reaches into a new world of discovery. Enjoy!

Not an artist to stick to one genre, Jake Steele A.K.A. Yarhkob (Tobacco Rat / Kučka / Injured Ninja) has created electronic music from spaced out, synth riddled Hip-Hop to dark and twisted experimental Drum and Bass.

On 'Surface Waves' Yarhkob returns with an eclectic selection of 7 tracks of pure summer Hip-Hop vibes perfectly suited for a cruise down Santa Monica Boulevard.

Born into a musical family, Yarhkob has been creating electronic beats for 10 years and is involved in a variety of creative musical projects, most notably composing, orchestrating and conducting a 30 minute hip hop symphony as part of his end of 3rd year recital for the Bachelor of Music (Music Technology) degree at WAAPA (West Australian Academy of Performing Arts).
Through this course he has scored music for films, docos and also collaborated with the dance choreographer students to make three seperate 10 minute epic performances.
Yarhkob has also made his foray into interactive sound art installations (utilising MAX/MSP/JITTER) by combining the acoustic sounds of scrap metal with processed electronics to create a truly unique experience. He is also in the process of using JITTER within MAX FOR LIVE to create visuals that react to each individual element of the song.
Yarhkob is also a member of Injured Ninja, one of Perth's premiere experimental noise rock groups who have toured to Japan and have released their debut full length release "Vs Skylazer" in March 2011.
They have just finished a tour of North America which also included some official showcase gigs at the famous South By SouthWest (SxSW) !

Yarhkob released his 7 track debut EP 'Transmissions' in November 2011. 
The follow up 'Responses' EP was released in March 2013
He has also done remixes for local acts and intends to collaborate with Perth MC's for a hip hop album release.
