Yasuke X is a self-taught multi-instrumentalist musician based in Paris.
Author, composer and contemporary performer, he discovers a real passion for instrumental music as a teenager, playing guitar and drums in metal bands. As he grew up, he was introduced to the piano and the cello, later moving towards other sounds, such as film music and neoclassical.

In 2018, he moved to Geneva, Switzerland, where he discovered the fascinating story of Yasuke Kurosan: a former slave from Mozambique who became the first black samurai in Japan. Moved by the story, he decided to use Yasuke as his composer’s name. He added a capital “X” to symbolize the mystery and the unknown that life holds for him through his travels. 

It is in the streets of Geneva and Lausanne that he introduces his works, playing on street pianos, improvising mini concerts to passers-by. Influenced by artists such as Agnès Obel, Émilie Simon, Erik Satie, Joseph Boulogne, Max Richter, Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds or Yann Tiersen, Yasuke X takes us on an astral, musical and experimental journey where fiction, poetry and melancholy are entwined.
