Here is my take on the LCD Soundsystem classic - I Can Change. I've been a massive fan of the track since I heard Nicola Bear play it at Ibiza Rocks in August 2011, and I wanted to do my own little edit.

I took the original, the Stereogamous instrumental, some extra percussion and FX and turned it into a bit of an indie dancefloor tune.

Expect to hear more tunes like this when I DJ at the Joy Division / Bez gig at the Pier in Cleethorpes on April 1st 2011.

Wah Wah 45s are proud to present the third single from a lady who’s been causing quite a stir of late, the powerhouse vocalist and lyricist Lea Lea. AK-47 is typically challenging in its subject matter, tackling as it does the Mexican drug wars and their effects, something Lea Lea had a little experience of whilst travelling and writing her eponymous debut album, released on Wah Wah 45s last autumn.

Having wowed audiences all over with uncompromising live show, and recently worked with Hospital Records artist Other Echoes on his forthcoming LP, this young lady has had a very busy 18 months or so, and 2014 sees the collaborations continuing, with North London duo Man Like Me contributing a stunning Sour House remix (a style devised by their label boss, Mike Skinner, AKA The Streets) and scorching hot U.S. producer Paul Basic giving AK-47 some proper Dub Step treatment. Oh and don’t overlook Lea Lea’s canny cover of the Talking Heads creepy classic Psycho Killer too for a very modern and alternative take on Byrne and co’s sinister single from 1977.

Lea Lea’s sassy style has drawn comparisons to Missy Elliot, MIA, Kelis and Grace Jones, but she’s really a one-off – at once alluring, charming and commanding. Writing songs that encourage dialogue and challenge female stereotypes, whilst being thoroughly entertaining, Lea Lea thrives on the darker side of music yet delivers her songs with an infectious warmth.

Modern in style, dramatic in production – Lea Lea is the new queen of dark electronic soul. Look out for her at both the Dimensions Festival, Croatia and Southern Soul Festival, Montenegro this summer!

It all starts with a sample of Beyonce’s breathing. “Skills” is the second single off DID’s latest album, “Bad Boys,” and it conveys the Turin-based band’s rough pop attitude to a T. Vocals recorded using an Iphone app, later re-filtered using a vocoder, precision rhythmic patterns, and a sharpie guitar sound, create a hybrid mixture of electronic wave and avant-pop.

With a video directed by Andrea Nissim and Corrado Marchigiano and filmed in a one continuous shot at Turin’s legendary venue, the Astoria, "Skills" lends itself to two reworkings: one by Italian producer Vaghe Stelle, who proposes a space-tech sounding remix, and the other by DFA’s Larry Gus.

'Get Down On It' has been my all time favourite track for as long as I can remember.

Anyone who has tried to play it, knows how difficult it can be to mix in and out of, so here's a little something I whipped up so I could play it at last Saturday's party with Dicky Trisco on Sydney Harbour. 

Its up for download as a thank you, considering I recently reached the 2000 followers mark. Thank you all for your ongoing support, I cant tell you how much I appreciate it.
