This was the very first set played at Dementha for the week. We were planning to kick things off with our first-ever evening party on Sunday to celebrate Dementha’s 20th anniversary, but the rain had other plans. So my Monday afternoon set ended up being the opener.

I wanted to start things off with a bang — high energy, high tempo, positive vibes to get the floor moving and set the stage for the week ahead. This set gave me the chance to stretch a little and play tracks I don’t usually get to in club sets: faster cuts, bits of UK garage, dubstep influences — all mixed in with the house and techno I love. Burning Man (and Dementha) gives you the freedom to experiment and push the edges, and I had a lot of fun leaning into that.

It felt like a great way to launch into the week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did playing it.

What a BURN!   By Friday the sun was shining in a blue sky for the third consecutive day and the crazy Hurricane Larry during build  seemed like last year.   This was my final set of the week but earliest in the program where I got to open Friday's DJ proceedings at DeMentha to an already busy party.  Great times - hope you enjoy! :)

Burning Man 2025 // Friday at DeMentha

Friday at Dementha was pure magic. I jumped on after a stellar opener from OBER — the tent was packed, everyone had mojitos in hand, and the crowd was gathered tight around the iconic DeMentha misting fans.

This set is all about groove: starting with some deep minimal cuts, then building into warm, uplifting house with a few psychedelic twists that fit the vibe of the room perfectly. It also features a few tracks that have been staples of my summer sets — music that feels closest to me right now.

Always an honor to play with DeMentha, and this one was special. I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to welcoming you back to our minty home next year. 🌱💚

Ghosts, goblins, guys, gals, and ghouls, here is my closing set from Wayward: Phantasm! Recorded live at F8 SF on October 16 2025, our spooky shenanigans were off the charts! Live @ Wayward: Phantasm (F8, 10.16.2025)

Yaz is a San Francisco-based DJ who enjoys playing tech house, deep tech, minimal, and techno. He is an active member of the Burning Man community and underground house/techno community in San Francisco.

Yaz has played all over San Francisco at all the major venues, including Public Works, Mighty / The Great Northern, Monarch, Midway, and Halcyon. He was a resident DJ at the venerated Wish Lounge for 5+ years, running his monthly Wayward party right up until the pandemic caused Wish to close. Once it was safe to do so, he has taken Wayward to its new home F8 Nightclub, and has been a resident there since August 2021. 

Yaz has collaborated with many different promoters and labels, and has opened and closed for (or shared billing with) well-known artists including John Digweed, Bob Moses, The Scumfrog, Tommy Four Seven, John Monkman, Technasia, and Marques Wyatt, to name a few.

His love for Burning Man is only rivaled by his love for music. His styles go from deep tech, minimal and techno to indie dance. You can find him on the playa playing for his camp DeMentha, and everywhere else for The Janky Barge, Airpusher, and Icarus. Yaz has also participated in many fundraisers in San Francisco for the aforementioned camps, as well as DISTRIKT, Mayan Warrior, the Salty Jacks, and others.
