Final track in the running order is a deep and dubby downtempo dancehall track. Originally produced in the 90s, but recently finished by Phil, ‘Blossom Street Dub’ has an added synth line and an iconic King Tubby filter which help to enhance a time-warping, headrush effect. This track, alongside the ‘Hot Number (Alternative Version)’ B1 tune, will both be pressed for the very first time on vinyl, having been absent from the original ’91 test pressing.

For hours he'd snake through the city, feeling the wind in his hair, before taking his journey on to the highways and putting pedal to the metal. It was his adult playground, it granted him an escape that little else could. When he fired up the engine, he awakened his inner child...

Glasgow's LWS has been catching the ear of tastemakers since he started making his percussive and drum-heavy bass cuts. The up-and-coming producer has already made pitstops at labels like Tdsr, Eyeangle Records and MELD, as well as launching his own Matrice Recordings which started life at the beginning of this year. Now he keeps it local again with a debut on Redstone Press, a label who have been making similar waves to the young producer. Hot on the heels of their fourth release with Henry Greenleaf, they draft in LWS for his Aerosol EP, a collection of leftfield bass tracks that range from high energy workouts to wonky chugging grooves. There was a beautiful, cinematic sound emerging from behind closed doors. It danced and echoed in the hallway as smoke billowed softly from beneath the door which rattled under the weight of a large drum upon the other side.

This was studio pleasure at its very best – a unique moment in time in which creation and magic danced in the air as wild sounds reverberated and bounced between the walls.

Soon it would only be a distant memory, a flickering memory of a record long ago.

Now here is something special – a collaborative release between three heavyweight producers in the form of Plead, Slyngshot and Neewt. The three of them hold no punches drawing for weird, textural sounds with nods to dub, house, techno and beyond. It’s a wonderful release from the OK Spirit camp and one which comes highly recommended from us.

Jealous Hours is the first full-length LP by the Tel-Aviv based DJ & producer Lily Haz. Featuring nine genre-bending tracks in her distinctive electro-dub style, the project playfully emphasizes & recontextualizes the role of sampling using cinematic references to nineties cult songs & movies.

“I’m a rapper!” says the kid to the cop. “Oh you’re a rapper? Oh, ok… Be cool, stay in school” the cop condescently replies.

Thanks to her unique approach to production, Lily takes us for a tour in her obscure, ethereal universe where hip hop’s supremacy is undisputed. Flirting with the club realm while fearlessly determined in her style, each of one of her core influences is essential to this parallel universe. Out there, pitched-down rap verses top obscure beats and rolling liquid jungle drums ; extended intros and outros riffle through the whole spectrum of human emotion. From anger to the puzzling humoristic dialogues she creates by toying with her own layered vocals or memphis rap samples, one cannot help but let himself dive into this ethereal consciousness outburst.

Leck Meine Bahn - they are back! These two space cadets bring back home some heavy radiated elements from outer space. After a two year odyssey, they return back to mother earth with an insane Live Set (Backslash Festival 2022) and a Battery Point EP full of blasting fusion energy. Their musical capsule comes packed with new textures, mixed up with an unholy but tasty reduction of Jungle and Trance substances melting with a fusion of Bass Music and industrial space chugs.
This cosmologic sound match is leading to a new co-dependency between gravity and bass. Their enigmatic grooves are ponderous yet playful and every alien ear which listened to this intergalactic call so far, could not escape this quirky dance atmosphere. Brainwaves music commanders aka LMB are Estebahn and Yolek and this composition is their second EP which results to an extension of new boundaries in our further rave solar system. Including two massive remixes by Jan Loup and Nuevo Prohibido to beam up every sort of flesh to the the next bass portal. Space alert!
