Cyence, aka Belfast based dj, producer and promoter, ‘Steve Boyd’ has been a key playeron the city’s burgeoning club scene for the past three decades.

 Since taking to the turntables in the early nineties, Steve Boyd’ has played thousands of gigs, promoted thousands of events and now owns one of Ireland’s most successful clubs,‘Thompsons Garage.

Over the years, Steve’s universal approach to dance music has witnessed his involvement in many of its incarnations and genres. Throughout the nineties and noughties hebecame one the first Irish djs to regularly play across the length and breadth of Britain, spinning sets at Ministry of Sound, Turnmills, Pacha and countless others. Beyond the UK& Ireland, Steve has also completed numerous tours of Russia and headlined gigs across India, China, Arabia and Europe.

A truly versatile dj, Steve has held his own, spinning a variety of styles and sounds alongsidenumerous international artists. From laying down Jacking House with Derrick Carter, Soulful House with Tony Humphries, Disco with Joey Negro, Progressive with Sasha and Techno with Nina Kraviz, Steve’s ability to seamlessly mix and identify quality tracks within each genrehas given him an edge that few of his contemporaries possess.

Steve can also count himself as one of the world’s longest running resident djs with a 25 year stint behind the turntables at seminal Belfast club, Thompsons Garage. Steve has been resident dj at the club’s Friday & Saturday events since it’s opening in 1994! Over timehe went on to promote the club’s weekend agenda,bringing thousandsof acts to Belfast beforefinally going on to buy the club a decade ago. Thompsons Garage remains one of the city’s most successful independent nightclubs and Steve’s Friday & Saturday events, ‘Misfit’ & ‘Stereo Sessions’, continue to pack them in; week in, week out!

Despite a several false dawns in the studio Steve has finally found a sound he’s happy with under his production alias ‘Cyence’. Merging together his love of Italo Disco, Electronica and Techno, Cyenceproductions are aimed squarely at the dancefloor with hisreleases on Correspondant, Critical Monday, Sincopat and Roam Recordings being championed by a variety of industry heavyweights including Andrew Weatherall, Erol Alkan,Maceo Plex...

We are proud to present the nineteenth instalment of our Disco Suicide mix series by UK-based Stevie R (@stevie-r) & Parisinos (@Parisinos)!

Stavros Potamitis (aka Stevie R) conjures emotion and weaves sonic tales by combining the rebetiko folk music of his Greek homeland with analogue electronics. Working with a range of collaborators he offers forward thinking, avant-garde music and daring, theatrical live performances that freely blend and cross over between musical styles. As well as being a musician, producer and performer, Stevie is a lecturer at Point Blank Music College in London, runs his own record label Inside Out Records and is A & R of Chapter 24 Records. Always looking to push musical and sonic boundaries, he is just as relentlessly focused on moving things forward in his own work as he is committed to supporting the next generations to break through.

Born and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus, Constantinos Parisinos moved to the UK in early 00’s to study medicine. Electronic music quickly formed a gateway of expression. An obsessive collector of obscure melodic gems with an inherent attraction for repetitive sequences and slower, hypnotic rhythms; an enthusiast for the unconventional and the diverse underground music culture. 

Apart from his solo endeavours, Parisinos has formed a formidable sonic partnership with Stavros Potamitis (Stevie R). With a focus on blending Greek folk music (Rembetiko), mesmerising vocals and middle eastern scales with slower rhythms, acid lines and powerful percussion, their distinct sound captivates and hypnotises dancefloors. Together, they also release more experimental music under their more enigmatic alias After Altamont. Stavros Potamitis and Constantinos Parisinos are also harnessing their vision of electronic music through their label Inside Out Records. Aims for next year include a new live act and album.

Parisinos has worked with leading underground artists including Lena Platonos, Tolouse low Trax, MR TC, Anatolian Weapons, Zombies in Miami, A Strange Wedding and many more...

#3615 JOE LEWANDOWSKI

Joe Lewandowski's first foray into music traces back to the various local Parisian rock bands he played in as guitarist. Moving to New York offered him the opportunity to reconnect with the classic house and techno sound he grew up listening to with his older brothers, which ultimately led him to start DJing and organizing parties in Brooklyn. Back in Paris, he became resident DJ of legendary club Garage and started crafting a sound that became his signature: a no-genre, spontaneous approach seamlessly blending Leftfield House and Techno, Italo, Acid and Disco, inspired by some of the biggest names he had the chance to play with.

As a producer, he quickly became a very prolific artist, putting out releases on well-established labels like Skylax and exciting newcomers such as AMSEM. 2019 saw him playing in cities likes Berlin, Tel Aviv, Mexico, Lyon or Bordeaux and hosting regular shows for Le Mellotron and Rinse FM. He recently started to play his first live shows this year where he blends rock guitars with his techno beats.

Opening phase 3 of the RCU, the Reptilian Mix 07 introduces rising star @tau-car, already quite famous in the Neuköllnywood underground art-house scene. She is now stepping under the World Wide Web projector lights for reptilian connoisseurs' uppermost enjoyment. 

Indeed, Car has experienced her share of life-changing party experiences, to a point she had to answer the call of Jane Gain™ and started to ride those transitions as if her life was depending on it. Relentlessly practicing, she started deep diving into minimal / tech-house, funky club-house, and electroclash to create her distinctive sound showcased in this mix. Her ability to select and play records is only equaled by her love towards Renéchou, her dogtilian son, adding a new member to the reptilian bestiary.

She is the closest crew member imaginable and we are more than proud to feature her first mix in the series.

The tracks were premiered by Le Mellotron, Les Yeux Orange and Midnight Orient.

With so much mileage behind them, and the brightest of futures ahead, Dori and Niv started in recent years to experiment as well with some solo music. 2 years ago it was Dori with his Kapitan alias that debuted on Malka Tuti, and in 2021 Niv, aka Nic Arizona will push through with his debut album on Malka Tuti.
