Don Kashew - Supermarché

Sneaker DJ has been on a mission to reveal the origins of electronic music for more than twenty years now. Whether as a producer or DJ – the former student of fine arts is doing it properly but always after careful consideration. Early on, he fell in love with Detroit and Chicago but furthermore there are the obscure italo-, new wave- and minimal-synth-gems that make his sets and ‘Dunkeltier’ edits special and provide his productions with that certain Sneaker-flavour. He remixed pioneers such as Twilight Ritual, Esplendor Geométrico (on Frigio Rec.) and Absolute Body Control (on Macadam Mambo Edits). Specialiced on edits of dance (un-)classics he’s one of the heads behind the label Rat Life with an upcoming EP of drum machine tools and Arabic folklore. The year 2015 has seen an enormous output with EPs on ULM, Lunatic, Bahnsteig 23, Bordello A Parigi and Rat Life plus numerous contributions on vinyl. 
His percussive drill mix was recorded at  Bootleg in Tel Aviv during an intense night run by the Barzilay promoters. The mix features a lot of classic and new material by Traxx, LB Bad, K. Alexi and Sneakers own endeavors from the Meet The Heat EP (ULM002) and the Algerian Raï EP (Rat Life 6).

Buoyed by the success of "Endless", their 2015 primer on forgotten electronic explorer Dimitris Petsetakis, Into The Light Records has worked with the Greek composer to compile a follow-up album that takes an even deeper dive into his archive of previously unreleased material. Like its predecessor, "On Shores" draws on music recorded in the 1980s and early ‘90s. It contains just two previous released tracks, the humid “Clearance (Part II)” and poignant “On Endless Shores”, both of which first featured on Petsetakis’s cult 1991 album "Missing Links". 

"On Shores" offers another unparalleled insight into the picturesque and atmospheric soundscapes created in the Piraeus-based composer’s basement studio using a mixture of electronic and acoustic instruments, a wide range of global influences and a keen interest in both minimalism and new age ambience. Listeners will encounter a range of stunningly beautiful and beguiling compositions, from the creepy, slow-burn exoticism of “Pythia’s Dance” and rhythmic, otherworldly escapism of “Violated Asylum”, to the gentle bliss of “Like a Knife” and sun-bright joy of “Nearxi (Minimal Marimba Edit)”.

We are glad to present you ‘Acts of Intimacy’, a 6 track compilation maxi (vinyl + digital), booklet, and large format prints release. Featuring Paulie Jan, Refracted, Asfa, Joseph, Kanthor and Vâyu, the creative process of each artist on the vinyl was guided by our multidisciplinary approach for this compilation. 

The booklet is made of Benoît Lefeuvre micro experiments photos shots taken trough a microscope lens, and Léa Moret-Bailly’s poem. We gave the artists a carte blanche around these artistic elements, to let them compose a musical creation in their very intimate way. 

‘Acts of Intimacy’ comes in a limited press of 200 numbered vinyls, 100 booklets, and 10 unique framed photo prints on fine art paper.

J A is a sonic poetry duo formed by electronic artist Andrea Noce (Eva Geist) and poet Jonida Prifti (Acchiappashpirt). Through obscure layers of stasis and glimpses of madness, J A sings declaiming in honor of abstraction and subconscious. "Orga" is a short collection of electronic sonets inspired by Jonida's verses and developed around lazy and sensual sonic repetitions. "Orga" is an uninhibited tribute to the charmer power of female voice.

Marlais is the stage name of Michael Culme-Seymour, who has been living and working in Berlin since 2011. “Warm at Last” his debut full length album released in 2016, hosted traditional ballads and songs from Britain and Ireland, sung to experimental electronic arrangements. His latest single "Meeting Is A Pleasure" was released on Treibender Teppich Records in September 2020. He co-hosted the show "We Just Met" on Berlin Community Radio with Phil Smith for 4 years and went on to host it alone for another 2 before the station shut down.
