Born in 1983 in Krushevac, Serbia, Bojan Stojiljkovic (Ascent) and Milan Rakic (Sideeffected, Astral Sense) are two souls who have come together to create this Psy-Trance project with all their heart. Focusing on deep space atmospheres, uplifting and mystical melodies, groovy bass lines, and old school ideas that were inspired by many famous artists. Opening the album with their special version of Ovnimoon and Middle Mode - Izolan sets the mood for the adventures to come. These nine tales of powerfully thought provoking psychedelic trance will showcase the care and energy they have gained from their experiences growing up in families of musicians, making them lucky to be gifted with music talent and support. Elgiva - Unrevealed Secrets

No doubt about it, HypeLTD are on a bit of a roll at the moment; recent releases from the likes of JoeFarr, The Analogue Cops and Marco Bernardi have helped shape the Hypercolour sub-label into a consistent purveyor of raw and rootsy techno music.

On the ‘Split’ EP, various artists are assembled to flex their prowess, namely Warlock, Zoé Zoe & Enoah Ballard and Samuel Thalmann.

Opening up the EP is Warlock, the driving force behind London’s Rag & Bone label.  This seasoned British breaks and electro producer offers up ‘Sawhorses’, a weighty 909 kick and incessant, filtering stabs give this an air of familiarity, Berlin in sound, Detroit in spirit perhaps, but a straight up club cut for certain.  A proper jacker, and an ace reverse edit right on the end!

Lithuanian brothers, Zoé Zoe & Enoah Ballard, team up for the ‘1234’.  Zoé Zoe has been behind previous releases on Planet Mu and Sneaker Social Club, and joins his sibling on this dark and ravey breakbeat driven track.  The kind of cut that separates the wheat from the chaff come closing time at your local discothèque, ‘1234’ is both eerie, cosmic and flat out deep all at once.  

Closing this ‘Split’ EP is Samuel Thalmann AKA Okain, a man behind an incredible musical CV, including music for Tsuba, BPitch, Memento, Four:Twenty and many more.  Samuel offers up ‘Not Anymore’ under his birth name, a blinding 909 drum workout with some freaky Chi-town modulations goin on.  Almost like a perfect accompaniment to Warlock’s ‘Sawhorses’, this is simple yet effective dance track that’ll have ‘em jackin and pumping their fists til dawn.

Samuel Thalmann - Not Anymore (clip)

Tim has been at the very forefront of the UK underground scene over the past 5 years. His off kilter grooves and ever-evolving house and techno sound has seen him release with the likes of Cocoon, Get Physical & Dirtybird. In 2013 Tim launched his first ever live show at the esteemed London Festival SW4 which proved Green to be a dexterous performer with plenty to say for himself, as does this new EP. 

The lead track, ‘Helpless Sun' is typical of Tim's need to always surprise the listener, the track constantly evolves and changes in effortless fashion. Starting with lush guitar licks and atmospherics and quickly moving to growling baselines, broken beats, a humungous breakdown, 4/4 and to top it off an amazing vocal from the highly talented new vocalist Hayley Hutchinson. This is the kind of track 99% of producers out there wish they could make. The result is stunningly epic. Ryan Crosson is at the heart of contemporary techno as part of the Visionquest collective. The first of his two remixes totally deconstructs the original into a swelling and driving dance floor monster with plenty of tripped out vibes. 

The second, an ambient mix, does exactly what it says on the tin – it’s a celestial affair that suspends you in mid air as synth patterns unfold and indecipherable vocals ebb and flow at the core of it all. Rounding off the package, Tim's second original on the EP ‘Seti’, a lush and beautiful deep techno track with glowing harmonies and bright neon synths. A track that seems simple at first but on more listens proves to be as intricate and textured as its A side, constantly evolving throughout the build and crescendo's. This is another outstanding offering from Mr. Green. As ever this is a forward thinking package from MFR that proves Tim Green to be one of the finest craftsmen of the day.

he latest release to drop on the Saved Records imprint is a two track EP titled 'Perception’ from Oxia.
