Ever since its inception over a year ago, Cue Recordings has acquired a reputation of punching well above its
weight. With Tommy Dub at the helm, the once small Australian label has continued to shake the drum and bass
scene worldwide, with lengthy Radio 1 play as well as stints in the Beatport charts. With a back catalogue
already featuring massive releases from the likes of recent Hospital signings Fred V & Grafix, and more recently
Squash’s huge ‘Divine EP’, Cue now revisits some of the hits responsible for its sudden success.

A reimagining of four tracks that have swiftly helped define the impressive reputation the label enjoys today, the
‘Reflections EP’ is another example of Cue’s continuing desire to make its mark on the drum and bass scene.
Featuring remixes from the likes of Technique Recordings superstar, Phetsta, rising Russian producer, Eastcolors,
Hospital Records and Viper Recordings alumni, Agent Alvin and the mighty Mutated Form, the ‘Reflections EP’
boasts a heavyweight lineup and puts a fresh spin on some of the tracks that have defined Cue Recordings short
and spectacular history.

Grafix - Holding On (Phetsta Remix)

This remix sees Technique’s Phetsta take the subtle rolling sounds of Grafix’s smash hit ‘Holding On’, and turn it on
its head with fantastic results. With the original clocking up over a quarter of a million views, Phetsta wisely keeps
elements of the much loved original and combines them with his own trademark style, creating another classic in
its own right. Featuring uplifting synths, soulful vocals and a rolling bassline to match, ‘Holding On (Phetsta Remix)’
is a feel good tune you won’t get tired of hearing.

Squash - Divine (Eastcolors Remix)

Squash’s ‘Divine EP’ was a breakthrough EP of 2011, with four blinding tracks that put his name firmly on the map,
and cemented Cue’s place as a label to watch. This remix of the title comes from minimal giant Eastcolors, one
of the brightest talents in the more stripped back side of drum and bass. Dispensing with much of the originals
eclectic feel, this Eastcolors remix turns the vibrant ‘Divine’ into a more ominous affair. The paranoia-inducing,
bass-heavy monster takes the iconic vocals of the original and turns them into haunting, ghostly echoes.
Featuring lashings of atmosphere, harsh drums and cheery-turned-haunting vocals, this is a totally different beast,
and one sure to destroy the dance floor.

Squash - Squeak (Agent Alvin Remix)

Boasting a discography that features the likes of Hospital Records and Viper Recordings, New Zealand-based
Agent Alvin works his magic on the already slamming ‘Squeak’ by Squash. Boasting a restless, varied bassline, this
remix bounces along with real groove and attitude. Combine all the elements that made the original so good
with the renowned intricate production of Agent Alvin, and the result is a track that bubbles and fizzes, and an
instant way to get the dancefloor moving.

Fred V – In My Head VIP (Mutated Forms Remix)

Fred V’s smooth number ‘In My Head VIP’ gets a reworking from Grid favorites Mutated Forms, one of the most
groundbreaking acts in the scene today. By coupling the classic, rolling melody of original with hard-edged
breaks and lingering vocals edits, Mutated Forms change the complexion of the track whilst maintaing eveything
that made it great in the first place. Boasting production edits from Hosptial’s Fred V and Mutated Forms, it’s no
surprise ‘In My Head VIP (Mutated Forms Remix)’ is one of the most sumptuous tracks you will hear in 2012.

The mass of supplicants prostrated just beyond its twisted paws, their pathetic mewling pleasantly caressing the towering feline fiend’s ears as they expressed their divine agony. Drinking up the delicious earmilk of their pain, it reclined languidly in its glorious pedestal; a mass of flesh and sinews with the fine carved bones from the countless many condemned to this realm of eternal torment. Its three eyes rolled apathetically to fall upon one particular beggar, drained of almost all remaining life from her years pennance, spent at the foot of the infernal throne, worshipping the glory of pain in all its truth and crying for salvation. The utter futility of this endeavor suddenly dawned on the great cat, as the constancy of myriad calls made for escape fell upon his ears at once. Suddenly annoyed by this ever-present sound, he reached out, spearing the pathetic being before him with a claw and flinging her from into rock and into the depths of the molten river below. His eyes watched her form ignite and fade in the heat, her soul joining others to be swept into its current on a journey to be reborn as pitiful lesser devils elsewhere in the plane. How benevolent an act, the cat thought to itself, freeing the pitiful creature from her suffering for a brief moment and more even - giving her the opportunity of such an esteemed metamorphosis. Even though the pathetic fiend she would be reborn as would hold not even a candle to his own magnificence, it would still be a marked improvement against the limits of her prior flesh. Sated by his own thoughts, he leaned forward once, rotating his vast ears to better drink in the fresh desperate energy of the remaining supplicants. Its hideous mouth opened to a wide, sharp smile, revealing cruelly serrated fangs that shone unnaturally with a umbral hue. “A reward for my benevolence,” he thought as he plucked the nearest wretch from the rock with a single talon, his pupils sharpening with focussed malevolence as he tossed them into his fur-lined maw. Satisfied, his hunger temporarily sated, there was but one thing left to do. He would take a nap.

The ZOMBIE CATS return to the label that set the fire on their ferocious project back in 2014, placing them on a fierce trajectory of furiously kinetic releases that have brought them to the present, their most pointed assault on the eardrums yet with the WORLD’S END EP on EATBRAIN. With the title track tearing out of the mouth of hell with slower bpm but highly charged energy, further establishing the newly forming neurowave genre, the cats make a bold statement from the outset. Also featuring 2 intense collaborations with masters of their art ABIS and MALUX, alongside 3 further astounding intensely fresh solo cuts, the WORLD’S END EP is a welcome return for one of tech dnb’s most respected duo’s, on one of the genres most consistent labels. The end is here, and it’s one hell of a ride.
