After 6 years, label boss Ewan Jansen circles back to Red Ember’s main with a new EP. 
A concept journey equally for the mind and the dancefloor that strays from his house roots with themes of mysticism pushing wider rhythm palettes and creative synthesis.

The opener ‘Solanoid’ marches over the horizon; a solid progression of sun-scorched chords, goaded by some distinctive chanting synths and driving bass.
‘Caravania’ answers as a stomping IDM-esque fable, joined by bubbling rhythms on the ground and a central writhing serpentine synth guided from high above by voices unknown.   
The flip side quickly de-camps from the physical, with the organic ‘Mistik’ seeing elements of rave and tribal electronica driven by tuned kicks, sub-bass and resonant rhythms.
Lastly, a stoic tome of stone and water is left with ‘Gecko’ – a skittish chunky groove, with isolated melancholic tones that find harmony in the end.

An avid listener from an early age, DNGR GNGR has been collecting decades of beats and pop culture moments from around the world in his head. And today, as a rising DJ in the Egyptian scene, he pours these collections into dance floors, festivals, and cyberspaces.
 
A genre chameleon, DNGR GNGR has become known for making unexpected musical connections between tracks and pulling at their common threads, constantly weaving together dance floor journeys. The colorful experiences he creates can swing you from Detroit house to Berlin industrial techno, house music, and more. With diversified percussion - and vocal anchors - constructing the spine for his mixes, he plays detailed sets that bring out the sexy while waving a sassy middle finger to genres altogether.

DNGR GNGR’s hour-long set features tracks like, ‘A Walk in the Park’ by DJ Minx, and ‘Metropolis’ by Delano Smith, in addition to finding an East African swing in ‘Rift Valley (feat. Abakisimba) by Esa, eventually landing in an unexpected old school hip-hop gem. Check out this set, it’s perfect for finding a summertime groove.

Having surfaced from a 20- year hiatus this year with two new albums, Anoesis continues his restored run of form letting loose a five-track masterclass in IDM, electronica, house and electro on Cyphon Recordings. Showcasing a signature touch crafted across the ‘90s, the ‘Stasislogue EP’ flies the flag for the fact that Howard Dodd has by no means lost the ability to make a dancefloor move. Operating in a far-flung corner of the cosmos, Anoesis was responsible for some truly mind-warping breakbeat and IDM across the ‘90s on labels such as D*Fusion Records and Octopus - releasing tracks that always felt like they were made in another dimension.
 
Continuing where he left off, the EP opens with ‘Track Thirty 7’, a production that could just as easily have come from Mars, as it could Detroit. Glitched out yet driving, conceptual yet considered, it’s got an ethereal urgency that moves limbs with purpose.  ‘Callisto’ follows, part UR, part dream house  - an emotive, eyes closed journey with soaring pads and glistening synths laid over a bubbling beat. ‘May Eleventh’ rounds off the A side and gives a real insight into the modulated mind of Anoesis, a hardware-heavy, underwater electro trip that nods to the deep-sea dwellers, Drexciya. Flip it over to find ‘Space Watch’, a skippy house bumper with a grooving low-end and lunar transmissions hypnotising from the off, before a peak-time, dancefloor-focussed slice of mind-expanding electronica, ‘Places For People’, rounds off the package. Honed in the ‘90s, yet firmly rooted in the present, it’s clear to see that Dodd’s ability to write absorbing, interplanetary machine music with a human heart at its core is as strong as it’s ever been.
