Gingaí is the tribal downtempo music project of Portuguese artist Henrique Saias, a rising talent in the global folktronica scene.  He is passionate about musical cultural heritage and traditions such as the Australian aborigines’ didgeridoo and the Afro-Brazilian art of capoeira.  His sound brings the sonic and vibrational essence of these and other cultures from around the world.

The Gingaí sound web is filled with tribal elements, warm synths and elaborate percussions.  In the stories he weaves, he’s as fluent in the meditative and transcendental as he is in the expansive ritual of dance.  His music floods the dancefloor with earthy basslines, rattles, driving groove and positive energy. 

"My music is deeply rooted in our shared ancestry, sourced from the primal heritage alive in our collective unconscious.  My intention is tap into the universality of music, this powerful language without borders, to build a brighter, more prosperous future for ourselves and for generations to come".

"Are fairies real? If so are there so many types of fairies, fairy dentists, fairy lawyers, and fairy shamen? In fact, fairy shamen are real, they like to dance, sing, and play instruments like flutes, drums, and synths. In fact, about 10,000 years ago fairy healers were having a flute and drum circle and had not had any rain in quite a while in their little forest. They wished for rain day after day and they decided to turn their wish into a song. The vibration of that song radiated out in all 10 directions and what the shamen found was that their strong wish and intention began to make it rain. This was a profound revelation for the fairy shamen, so profound that in fact, they decided to remain in the fair shamen form and not incarnate in any other form until they spread the word to everyone. This is the live recording from Dreamersland Festival 2023, an improvised Ecstatic Dance dj set made up of my favorite dance tracks from the last 4 years of djing in Ecstatic Dance events in Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Poland, Germany, UK, Romania, Greece, Norway, Japan. Normally in E Dance I would also play a slower ending to ground people back to meditative state but since it was a short set in a festival setting it was way more difficult to do it the traditional way. The Bororo people are an indigenous group in Brazil. They are one of the largest indigenous groups in Mato Grosso, a state in central-western Brazil. The Bororo people are known for their rich cultural heritage, distinctive traditions, and unique way of life

Like many indigenous groups in Brazil, the Bororo people have faced various challenges and threats to their way of life, including land encroachment, deforestation, and cultural assimilation. However, they have also been actively engaged in efforts to preserve their cultural heritage and protect their ancestral lands

“Bululú” is an incendiary bass-heavy banger made for dance floors from Toronto to Timbuktu.  With influences of afrohouse, kuduro and zouk music, this infectious floor-burner seethes with compelling percussion, interlocking bass, horn stabs and a rhythmic vocal hook that anchors the groove.  

“Bululú” is a slang term in Venezuela for a large, noisy crowd of people, and the frenetic energy of this track brings to mind a sweaty, moving mass of people.  A perfect showcase of the higher energy side of Yemanjo’s sound, look to hear this one playing on repeat at summer festivals worldwide in 2024.

Wonderwheel Recordings presents the fourth and final single taken from the debut album by Yemanjo, which blends Afro rhythms and organic sounds to create a spellbinding 10-track release with multicultural influences.

Yemanjo is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who uses his talents to produce tracks that range from downtempo electronic to upbeat Afro house, and this 10-track release showcases the full range of his talents.

Ben Harris aka Yemanjo is an American artist who now lives in Guatemala. From a young age, he was fascinated by the upbeat energy and vibrant rhythms of music from Africa and Latin America. Later in life, he travelled to these parts of the world to experience the culture first hand. He was inspired by his travels and started creating music that fused electronic sounds from his home scene in California with the organic instruments of Africa and Latin America.

After developing his own unique production style, Yemanjo was born in 2018, and since then he has built up an impressive back catalogue including releases on highly respected record labels such as Cafe De Anatolia, trndmsk, Cosmic Awakenings, and Camel Riders.

Not only does the release feature Ben Harris playing the trumpet and other instruments, the album also features collaborations with guest singers and musicians from Mali, Colombia, Argentina, Hungary and beyond.

"Janfa" features vocalist Mariam Koné who adds her sensual tones to the downtempo groove of this reggae-influenced track, as it enters dub/reggae territory with a West African “desert blues” twist.
