shef is the moniker of groove-techno producer-DJ, Elia Short. Despite being a self-proclaimed "open-format producer-DJ", the energy of shef's focused productions is soul-bound to groove, existing almost exclusively in the 140-160BPM tempo range greatly inspired by the sound that is currently exploding in warehouses all over the world, especially in Western Europe. shef has acquired label support from Fantastic Voyage Records and Debosh Records.

She has travelled the world playing a variety of locations, from intimate basement venues to large stages at festivals such as Coachella, Ultra Music festival, Time Warp, Electric Daisy Carnival, Awakenings and many more of the world’s most renowned electronic music spaces. Besides her solo releases and a consistently packed touring schedule, she has collaborated with a wide range of artists. In line with her diverse outlook, they include Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Armin Van Buuren, Chris Liebing, Jasper Street Co. and The London Community Gospel Choir, among many others.

Elsewhere, her radio show InTheMood continues to fly the flag for Nicole’s musical expression. For 11 years now she has hosted the show, with a music policy that has become all encompassing. The show is syndicated globally, airing on 60 FM stations worldwide, spreading her sound to millions of listeners around the globe. 

Her highly-regarded techno label Mood is now complemented by MoodCollective - focusing on techno and providing a new platform for self expression. Nicole is also writing a book about her life. In a boldly vulnerable move, she will tell her story in detail, giving fans a chance to gain a deeper understanding of her personal and professional background.
