The famously un-Googleable The Give are a Melbourne based band who have been kicking around the live music scene since 2010.

The Give story started when they recorded an EP with “Husky” touring sound engineer, Simon Russell. The EP attracted waves of attention, shooting the track “Expect me to be” to just shy of the top 10 in the Triple J Unearthed charts. Within 2 weeks of exposure “Expect me to be” was aired on local radio sending The Give into great demand.

Some of The Give’s favourite shows include playing with New Zealand indie royalty “The Feelers”, Triple J Unearthed Artist nominee’s “Kingswood”, Melbourne work horses “The Pretty Littles”, OzMusic Awards performers “Planet Love Sound” and Queensland electro heart throbs “Pigeon”, as well as a myriad of other awesome Melbourne and Sydney based bands who can rock-scissors-paper your ass off.

The Give launched their first EP to a sold out crowd at the Grace Darling Hotel in October 2011 where friends, fans, and passers-bys rocked out their infectious indie tunes. The title track for the EP, “To the west”, was used for The Give’s debut video clip which was launched to another sell out crowd, this time at the iconic Revolver on Chapel St in May 2012. The clip is now up to 11,000 views on youtube combined over 2 uploads – but who’s counting?

The Give are now in the process of writing their next EP. All signs so far are pointing to a great 2013.
