“Mumbai” is built on live bass and hard-hitting 808s, layered with sitars, live horns, and soaring Indian vocals. Inspired by my time in the city, it captures Mumbai’s pulse with a groove that feels both cinematic and dance-driven. As the second release from my debut EP India, “Mumbai” carries forward the journey I began with “Bangalore,” weaving traditional Indian textures with modern electronic and hip-hop production. The result is a global sound that blurs boundaries, meant to move both body and imagination.

When i first heard about Eprom from Gaslamp Killer I totally freaked out, but when I heard his album Halflife I knew I had to work with him somehow.  So I called him up and invited him down to LA.  This was a really natural collaboration. He came down to Venice and we sat in the studio for 3 days working on these tunes.  I don’t fan boy about very many producers but Eprom is one of the greatest in my humble opinion and he didn’t disappoint. We had all the analog stuff routing back and forth, then sampling it, resampling it, reworking it — the super cool mind of a maniac up in here.

Moon Juice was made strictly with 808 sounds, even the angelic arp style pads are made from modified 808 kick drums. Crawled Eagle is that more nasty Eprom vibe reminiscent of Center of the Sun from Halflife.  I added all my bits throughout as well.  Listeners beware this ain’t house music if that’s what you are expecting!

"Disenchanted" is a deep track inspired by the immense power of perception to color the feelings of being alive. What once appeared magical becomes disparaging. When the illuminated path to freedom leaves you feeling trapped in darkness.

"Juniper" was a very fun track to write. I like writing melancholic melodies and creating weird textures. I also tried to imitate wooden sounds throughout the track. I found some influence in a juniper bonsai tree when writing this track - how bizarre it can look, how the stems can be all contorted, but the leaves are beautiful. It takes quite a long time to grow and taking care of it can be tedious. I found similarities to how long it takes someone to be good at a certain skill, nurturing and slowly molding their craft. This song is to represent the everlasting growth of an artist.
