Jeff and I both feel the grieve of letting go. In times like these, though, it might be wiser to move unpredictably. Our special thanks go to the memory of Carlos Castaneda, whose novels and gesta and concepts of reality had had quite an impression on our respective minds when they were a lot younger and infinitely more malleable. It's been a blast!

The photograph of the lovely bench taken by Jo reminds me of the conversations between Carlos Casteneda and Juan Matus while sitting on benches in city parks  about Magic and human beings and the sheer wonder of this existence--the empty bench signifies  their absence in a most poignant way and the final installment in this definitive journey-- and yes indeed it has been a Blast!:)

I saw a video of a catfish eating a pigeon that had come to drink water on the banks of the Seine River that runs through Paris. From the catfish's perspective, it's easier to eat an unsuspecting pigeon than to go to the trouble of chasing a small fish. The TV commentary said, "Humans build cities, and nature acquires new adaptations." The number of bears in Japan has become so large that they are coming down from the forests into urban areas and attacking people. Global warming has made Japan's summers harsher, depriving us of the opportunity to enjoy the autumn leaves in our beloved forests.
