We are delighted to be reunited with our talented friend Dexter Crowe for his very first original EP titled ''Platypus''. With this energetic release, we explore a unique and captivating sonic spectrum by one of Australia's most creative producers. 

The first track ''Platypus'' is an imaginative bass driven percussive piece, inspired by one of the most interesting animals on Earth, native to Australia's unique biodiversity. 

In his own words, the Montreal-based producer explains the origin of the title: "Somehow the feeling of this beautiful mix of both dangerous and cute, maternal yet independent seemed to fit with the song. It has some darker elements and emotions but still carries a certain lightness and optimism." 

For the second track, we invite you to the immersive destination of "Apoth", taking us away from terra firma. A voyage into deep space where the music mysteriously interlocks synth melodies and powerful rhythms, a journey that feels like a cosmic ride through the galaxy, passing by lost worlds and distant nebulas. 

Dexter is an essential member of our label family in Montréal and we are so excited to witness his music ascension, fuelled by his inspiring dedication and passion. We couldn't ask for a better way to celebrate our 20th release!

Mashrik is the producer of a monthly event series in NYC called Kuná, which was started in January 2019 and have consistently sold out. Kuná is one of many projects related to music that Mashrik has started, which strengthens his foothold in the music industry.

The fusion of western music and Arabic influence has put Beirut on the map as the epicenter of the world's greatest cities. "Mashrik", aka Michael, who is half Lebanese/Egyptian gets his inspiration from within. Mashrik, which translates to east in Arabic, is where the sun rises to the Mashriq region surrounding Egypt. Michael moved to the U.S in 2014 after having grown up in Beirut his entire life. 

He's played alongside renowned artists such as Sébastien Léger (ADID), Armen Miran (Hoomidas Records), Davi (Crosstown Rebels), Hisham Zahran, Lemurian, Elfenberg (Stil Vor Talent), Facundo Mohrr (ADID), Magician on Duty, David Hohme, just to name a few . His footprint expands to other countries, such as Lebanon, Canada, Spain, Mexico where he played at M.N Roy - the most exclusive private club in Mexico City.

Expect his sound to be unique and unorthodox, from classical instruments to Oud and Qanun blends with riveting tribal/ethnic house. He hopes to eclipse and leave his trademark sound across the world. Currently residing in New York City, he is a resident DJ at Kuná, Gospël, Amaya and Soho House. He can also be found spinning every week in different venues, solidifying his footprint in another global city
