Crashing 
To the ocean floor
I didn’t want anymore
Didn’t fear losing you

When I was within the tank
Floating
In an endless world
I didn’t dream of who
Would be the one I sing to

I was in the moment
Present
Total silence
Quiet 
It surrounded me, salty sea
Giant darkness released me

And I let go
A caterpillar shedding skin
Each layer a new being
And within its innermost form 
The wings were waiting to be born
And when it shed it’s bound cocoon
We held what was transformed anew
A butterfly upon our hands 
It lingered briefly then it went
To the hibiscus tree

We all go
Through metamorphosis
The wave, the tank, the womb, the tomb
It happens every day

We return
To the most basic
The pure state, no form
No love, no hate

We emerge a new thing
We linger, then we fly
