BagzDaRyda was born in White Plains, New York and raised in Yonkers, where he grew up idolizing the 6th Borough’s biggest star, rapper DMX.  “I relate to his love of dogs as well as the hardcore attitude, the pain, and the aggression in his music,” says BagzDaRyda, who also counts his father as another major influence.  “My father was the one who really got me listening and loving music, and to actually start performing it.  He would always play instrumental tracks on our karaoke machine so we could rap to the ‘90s era hip hop, which I’ve always found appealing.  Back then I was always hanging with my father and his friends, so I fell in love with the music, the slang, and the fashion of the ‘90s -- that whole way of life, which led me to become an artist.  I consider myself a storyteller who speaks his life into music.”

“So far, I have released two projects,” BagzDaRyda continues.  “My first was called Can You Relate in May 2010.  My second, 18 Stitches, was released in November 2012 and, unfortunately, failed to live up to my high standards.  Disappointed after this ‘sophomore slump’ of sorts, I took a break from recording for a few years to pursue other interests, including running my own company and working as a cameraman.  I am now making a return to the game with my newest project, FREEBAGZDARYDA, and I’m also looking to manage my own career and a couple of other artists under my company, ImMyOwnRyder Productions (IMOR PROD).  My main objective now, as a music artist and business owner, is to bring loyalty, love, originality, and truth back into the game.  I want to make a difference in my community and in people’s lives.  I have the voice and I will use it.”
