About this journey:
" 20 years ago I mixed vinyl records for the first time. The process instantly captivated me and I bought turntables and started building my first vinyl collection.  It was an exciting journey ahead of me. Over time my preferences were changing, one style was replacing another, but one thing has always remained the same... whether I'm writing music or making a compilation, for me my interaction with music has always been accompanied by magical surprises that defy any logical explanation. Today I will give you an example of one such surprise. When I was buying new records, I was always focusing on one or more tracks that I liked, and there were usually tracks that I didn't find interesting enough for me. But. A few years would pass, and when compiling the next set I would accidentally stumble upon these very uninteresting tracks and realize with amazement that they now perfectly match my current preferences and are also perfect for a new compilation =). Music is an incredible mystery. At one time, having made a choice in my life in the direction of greater contact with this mystery I was convinced of it definitively. I invite you to come along with me on this lyrical journey, which is entirely composed of just such tracks ;) "

After witnessing yet another breathtaking sunset from the edge of the forest, Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 10-year old witch apprentice) returned to the heart of the forest where they gave a goodnight hug to Lalita, the tree nymph before passing by the mysterious dragon’s egg which they had found 6 months earlier. It was a very pleasant evening and this year’s Indian Summer was easily the finest they had ever experienced. The witches found the dragon’s egg near their sleeping den, at the safest place of the forest. Like every evening, they caressed and kissed the egg a few times, which always thanked them by emitting a faint pinkish glow in return. As always, the dragon’s egg reacted the strongest to Falke’s gentle touch. After the last goodnight kiss, the girls snuggled under their new moss blanket (a special new winter blanket made by a family of dunnocks) before falling asleep in each other’s arms. It was a glorious night just a few days after the autumn equinox, and the near-full moon was shining brightly. The witches were so fast asleep that they didn’t hear the egg shell cracking several times before finally breaking open. The baby dragon followed her instinct and soon found the way to the witch’s den, where she slipped under the moss blanket, and soon felt Falke’s soft skin. The baby dragon felt completely reassured and cuddled up next to the young witch. Falke didn’t notice any of this, but she started to have the most wonderful and vivid dreams she ever had … dreaming of a dragon flying under a rainbow and over a crystal-clear waterfall, in the middle of the pristine beauty of the Scandinavian mountains. And the dream seemed to last for hours and hours, bringing a smile on Falke’s face who subconsciously put her arms around the baby dragon in a tender yet protective way.
She woke up slowly a few minutes before sunrise, and at first Falke didn’t realize she was holding the baby dragon in her arms. Never before had she woken up in such a blissful and joyful mood. But then, just when the first ray of sunlight kissed her pale skin, it dawned to her. That was the start of the most wonderful day of her young life …

⫷ Kiskă. ⫸ I am thrilled to share the set I played at Lusatia Festival! A bit nervous at the beginning, I relaxed while the journey unfolded. In the end, I loved every second. Seeing you all dancing and letting go in the cozy & smoky Wooden Hut stage made me super happy. I loved the intimacy we shared for a moment under this big octopus above our heads! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This set is an ode to Freedom, a tribute to Kiska and Tokitae, two orcas who recently died alone in their tank after 50 years of captivity.

For the story, Kiska was captured from the wild in 1979, when she was only 3 years old. She spent much of her captive life performing alongside other orcas, but by November 2011 Kiska found herself to be the last remaining captive orca in Canada. Having outlived all of Marineland’s captives, including five of her own calves, Kiska was left all alone, not only in complete isolation from her own species, but also any suitable companion species too. As incredibly social, tactile animals who form close bonds, the absence of another orca or any companion at all was incredibly alien to Kiska. She had been left to run herself down, swimming in circles and logging listlessly, while her calls and vocalizations went unanswered for 11 years! 

Kiska was robbed of her wild family to serve a billion-dollar industry, only to end up unwanted and alone at a rundown marine park until her body couldn’t take it anymore.

44 years in total of a torturous lifelong imprisonment where only in death Kiska found freedom. Tokitae, known as Lolita, had the same fate after 50 years of imprisonment, not long after the decision of sending her to a sanctuary was taken. But too late…

As a conscious artivist, I’m endorsing the role of being an advocate for the voiceless and I chose music as an art expression as it conveys a lot within the vibration of each tone. And words for their vibrational power too.

I invite you to dive deep within my musical interpretation of what Kiska’s and Tokitae could have expressed throughout various emotions. I wish to thank all producers for their amazing creations and bringing this set to life.

Orcas inspire my dreams to expand my musical project to a bigger scale to be at service of the Ocean and its inhabitants.
