Relentless stuff from KAT with release number 26 coming via the Hinge Project, a disco balled collaboration between Florent F and Yo-One Sutter. 

Having a penchant for all things Rinder & Lewis is no bad thing and that's what this release if all about, a cap doffed in their El Coco direction. 

First up we have ‘Cocomotion 79’ : A top draw, classy as, uber cool disco lounge biggie that was out in (you guessed it) 1979. Things have been slightly slowed down from the original and chopped in all the right places taking this from over 10 mins down to just under 7 strengthening those fender Rhodes and string sections along the way.

Next up is ‘It's Your Last Chance’… A sultry mid-tempo ditty with an absolute killer groove edited down to accentuate that ace vocal hook. Tempo'd for Dj pleasure (without losing that all important live feel), subtle delays effects sprinkled over the top with a filtered mid section for added oomph - massive ! 

On the flip we have ‘Love Exciter’ - A full on dancer with bonafied disco hand claps, squelchy bass, clavs and strings. Here the tempo has been brought down considerably from the original with the beats are locked down for mixing delights and finishing things off nicely we have the classic ‘Coco Kane’. Insane disco loops, massive bassline and all round killer string arrangement rounds things up very nicely.

His career began in the late ’90s in the South of France, where music quickly became a gateway to incredible encounters and opportunities. In 2006, he moved to the island of Saint Barthélemy, where he founded Music and Sound, an agency specializing in music production, and artist booking. For six years, he also served as the musical director of Bonito St Barth, curating its unique sound identity.

His travels across the islands and beyond have shaped a rich and eclectic musical culture, allowing him to share his distinctive artistic universe worldwide.

As a producer, he co-created several EPs, including “Brand New Day” a collaboration with Brooklyn singer Mandel Turner under the alias The Hinge Project, released on ISM Records. He also reissued and pressed the EP “El Coco” on vinyl with Kat Records.

In 2022, he teamed up with Parisian collective Le Goût du Son and iconic singer Jacqueline Taïeb to remix her 1967 album. The project, pressed on vinyl and distributed by Warner Chappell, features his remix of “Petite Fille Amour” produced alongside DJ and friend Gabin Nogueira under the name Jean&Gabin. The record “Play it Like Jacqueline” is now available on Discogs and select vinyl stores.

He recently founded SUTTER MUSIC, an musical agency dedicated to private events. From contemporary House to timeless 60’s Soul, his music knows no borders, his DJ sets are designed to take you on a journey.

Bercé par l’âge d’or du Hip-hop des années 90,  il découvre les influences cette musique à travers le sampling, lui permettant de mettre en éveil sa sensibilité musicale et d’apprécier les sons soul et funk des années 70.

En parallèle avec le Hip-hop, il découvre le boom de la house music et au fur et mesure que l’électronique se développe dans le hip hop, il s’est mis alors à écouter cette musique et à retracer son histoire ce qui lui a permis de revenir aux fondamentaux et de découvrir le disco. L’ apprentissage et l’écoute de ces courants musicaux lui ont permis d’affiner sa définition du groove.
Toujours avide de développement après des années d’écoute, de       recherches et de rencontres avec d’autres passionnés, il s’est donc offert ses premières platines et démarre une collection de vinyles.
Collection grandissante et sets de qualité, il commence son activité de dj en organisant des soirées privées dans des appartements parisiens et fut résident pour ses soirées « groove sessions » dans différents bars et petits clubs de la capitale : La Karambole, Le B58, La  Bellevilloise, Le Batofar, Le Café Charbon, Le Badaboum, Le Grand Bleu… 

En 2019, il remporte le « Lab Festival », un concours de DJ organisé à Paris réunissant 350 participants dont la finale s’est joué au YOYO.
 
La crise sanitaire actuelle le privant de son activité, il décide de se lancer dans la production et signe son 1er EP « WELCOME » sur le label Emocia Records

En attendant de pouvoir retrouver le public et les clubs, il poursuit son chemin dans la production musicale dans le but de sortir ses propres   projets artistiques et de continuer à partager son amour de la musique   underground.
