He usually plays at El Barbero Club (Palma de Mallorca). One of the reference clubs in the city in terms of quality electronics with more than 30 years of experience.

The mixes he creates are usually journeys through hypnotic, narcotic, lysergic and melodic-melancholic sounds where they come together to create a rise in the listener's emotional intensity.

Back in 2008, Kommi Torpela acquired his first set of turntables and started spinning hardcore, drum & bass and techno records. Under a different moniker, he performed in various underground parties in Finland.

Some years later, "DJ Kommi Torpela" started off as a not-so-serious side project. It served as an outlet for his 80's and 90's music dj sets, mainly focusing on Italo Disco and Italo House. Further down the line, his interest over genres like Italo Disco, New Beat and EBM grew stronger. As modern productions started to emerge as Indie Dance and Dark Disco, "DJ Kommi Torpela" would then become his main alias.

In his dj sets, he likes to combine new with old, keep things interesting and surprising, and have a right balance between seriousness and playfulness. 

"The Universal Beats guest mix is showcasing my vision of darker side of Italo Disco, what I consider being my main style. It contains a fair amount of my all-time and recent favourites."

MkDeep aka HottDog is a record collector and Deep House fanatic,  
living in Austria. Born on Long Island/USA, the music he could find on  
FM radio stations like WBLS and KISS FM back in the 80s ignited his  
passion for underground dance music. Roaming around from Rhode Island  
to Chicago and then Boston he expanded his record collection and  
explored the local underground dance scenes. Playing out here and  
there over the the years, he nowadays mostly creates that club feeling  
in his bedroom. “about being a dj, it was never about being cool. i do  
it because i want to do it. i want to hear what i want hear. i like to  
dance, so i play what would make me dance. its my meditation. behind  
the decks i feel like i am in control of my own spaceship.”
