Over two decades in dance music have made Hoj more than capable of living up to his reputation as a sonic storyteller. His cinematic sets explore the deep house landscape with a fervor that resonates through dance floors across the globe.

Close colleagues like Lee Burridge simply refer to his style as “Hoj house” rather than attempting to pin down its eclectic nuances. Although a longer road, staying the course of his artistic vision has paid off. In addition to a residency and landmark releases on Burridge’s All Day I Dream imprint, he now provides a platform for like-minded producers by way of their joint venture, Tale and Tone.

An extensive background in the visual arts set Hoj (pronounced with a long Ō) on a path less traveled by the average DJ/producer. Born in Iran and raised in the Bay Area of the U.S., he grew up exposed to film and music alike. Prior to DJing full time his background was in film, design and new media. He was the brainchild behind All Day I Dream’s brand identity, coming up with the single cloud design.

Hoj also discovered electronic music early in life. He attended his first rave in San Francisco in the early 90s, and he experienced the inauguration of legendary warehouse venue Homebase. After DJing for a few years, he made his San Francisco debut at Qoöl Happy Hour, an event series that took place at 111 Minna Gallery.

Soon afterwards he got involved with outfits like Opel Productions and Spundae, which afforded him audiences at the city’s more prominent nightclubs. He went on to help build the inaugural Opulent Temple sound camp for the 2003 edition of Burning Man. He has performed annually at the transformative gathering ever since.

Upon moving to New York City in 2008, however, Hoj outgrew the category of local DJ. Each passing year after that point brought bigger milestones and more momentum.

After his set on the Robot Heart art car during the 2010 edition of Burning Man, he was booked at the world-famous Berlin nightclub Berghain’s Panorama Bar. 2011 saw Lee Burridge launch All Day I Dream to serve the dual purpose of a record label and event brand, and he enlisted Hoj as a resident DJ of the latter. Since then Hoj has brought dance floors to life across the globe. Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City account for much of his fan base, but his following has also grown significantly in locations like Canada, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, Dubai, Romania and London.

2017 marked two especially groundbreaking turning points for Hoj: His long-awaited debut as a producer and the unveiling of he and Burridge’s new record label, Tale and Tone. The label features music the founding DJs play at night, unique tunes with both story and groove. Around the same time, his own Telefade EP, released on All Day I Dream. The three-track EP included  “Leap Day” as well as a remix of the title track by Bedouin. Hoj followed up Telefade with his own Tale and Tone release in 2018. Titled “Ramblefog,” it appeared on the imprint’s Prologue compilation,.

Two decades of experience behind the decks have equipped Hoj to captivate any crowd. The twists and turns of each sonic journey almost surprise him as much as those he entertains, resulting in moments that make up unforgettable memories. Given his track record, it’s surely no accident that his audience has only grown over the years.

As far as his own story is concerned, a promising future lies out on the horizon for Hoj. Deep house enthusiasts far and wide are excited to see how his tale will unfold.

Tampa Bay native and a DJ since the 90’s, Brian Busto has worked for the last 30 years to keep the flames of the underground alive for the most Serious of Souls in the Tampa Bay area. Since he fell in love with dance music on one fateful night at SIMONS over three decades ago, Brian has never looked back. Busto first started DJing in 1994 with his first residency coming a year later at Beanjuice. A queer run late night haven for the house heads, ravers and weirdos of the Tampa Bay area. From Beanjuice, Busto went on to earn his first residency at The Castle courtyard in 1996 along with starting his second afterhours in 1997, Silver Meteor. From there Brian Busto went on to curate legendary nights in revered Tampa venues such as Rain Lounge, Malios, Bahassa, Ceviche, Hyde Park Cafe, Iberian Rooster, and The Castle. Wherever the location, Busto remains on the front lines, pushing cutting edge new music, ignoring trends, and always staying true to his roots. 

Brian Busto is a genre-defying DJ that loves to dig. You’re always going to get something unique, from tough cutz loaded with swagger to hypnotic rhythms that lift you right off the floor. Sounds from stateside meccas Detroit and Chicago as well as overseas Italo and Balearic flavors provide pleasant twists and turns throughout his sets. BIO:
Ben Schoenflies is a House & Techno-DJ from Salzburg/Austria, who has wide spread experience in several kinds of music genres. Heavily influenced by German House DJs like Monkey Safari and Super Flu, he builds his sets with a range of different kinds of house styles and electronic music flavors.

Ben early got in touch with classic tunes from the 80s and 90s in the discotheques of his father where he also started recording mixtapes for friends and schoolmates. His first own steps were in the upcoming Hip-Hop- movement in the 90s in Salzburg, his hometown – right next to Mozart and elementary modern music. He established Rap in the Nu-Metal Band “Crwth” in the late 90s and pushed the band to stunning popularity, touring around Austria.

Since 2005 he is into electronic music, when he started the Drum N Bass project Pornokollektiv with his mate Heo. Since then his musical and technical skills have vastly expanded; DJing beside acts like Camo & Krooked, Pendulum, Aphrodite, Danny Byrd, Bad Company and many more made the Pornokollektiv DJ-team a name in Austria’s DnB-scene; culminating in several large-scale performances at big festivals such as the Frequency Festival or underground clubs.

When Housemusic hooked him, he decided to begin a solo career and in 2014, Ben Schoenflies was born. He states “I own the luxury to be completely free of boundaries and therefore, I do not care about big names or popular tunes. It is all about the sound to be enjoyed” and you might have the chance to prove that, when he is playing in a club near yours.

With plenty of gigs national and international he definitely knows how to heat up the crowd.

Together with his friend David Klein he is producing & releasing on national & international labels and both are hosting their own clubnight Dekadance at Sodaclub in Salzburg every other month.
