<About Yokan System>
“Two of the finest indie talents in Tokyo right now”
Yokan System are a newly formed electronic duo from Tokyo Japan.
They are Mai (vocals & synth) and Tsukasa (Track./Gt./Synth.).
Think early Human League with touches of Cocteau Twins. Yokan means premonition in Japanese.
They quote Warpaint, Björk and Blonde Redhead as some of their influences. They work with analogue keyboards, synth drums and stereo spirit.
They self-released an EP in Japan, which did well on college radio.
They had 1st US tour in October 2014, after that,
their 1st single with Ample Play Records came out in November ‘A Dream You Never Wake Up From’ and in February ‘Klee’ and ‘Yokan Teresa’ got them BBC 6 Music plays & blog attention in the UK.
Also,they had 1st UK/Europe tour in February and
they could play twice with Lydia Ainsworth(Arbutus Records) in London & Amsterdam as the opening act.They’ll be back to UK in autumn 2015, coming soon..!
