To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his highly respected aLoLa record label, Omid 16B is marking this landmark achievement with a series of special releases and amazing parties throughout 2013. Now, as he puts the finishing touches to his forthcoming label mix compilation, it is time to revisit one of his finest creations.

When “Escape (Driving To Heaven)” by Omid 16B featuring the distinctive vocals of Richard Morel was first released on 29th October 2001 on the ground-breaking (now defunct) Hooj Choons label, it became one of the landmark releases of that era, an undisputed classic, that is to this day, regarded as one of the most unique and influential tracks of our time.

Now, in 2013, as part of the “20 Years Of aLoLa” celebrations, Omid 16B has sought out and commissioned a series of exceptional, diverse remixes to introduce “Escape” to a new audience and bring memories flooding back to those who remember the past.

After the great response on his last "Im a Gin EP", we couldn't wait to get another Betoko release here at OFF Luckily we didnt have to wait too long for it. Mexican man of the moment delivers "Supersonic", a robotic-vocal infused deep funk monster with his trademark bassline groove, a crowd pleaser for sure. We needed a hot remix for this one so we brought Kitball's own heavy hitters Tube and Berger. The germans have been making quite some noise in the scene lately and they dont dissapoint here, they turn it into a synth driven melodic killer, with a breakdown that will sure be glued into the minds of those lucky dancers. "NO, NO, NO was written and sung by a woman who was in such a pain that her heart was cracking while she kept her mind clear, so she could survive for herself and for her son. Of course that was me - right after John passed away. When John was still alive, he kept whispering to Sean that he would always be there for Sean and protect him. So when John left, Sean kept saying "a promise is made to be broken",  making it lighter than what it was. He was in pain. Sean loved this song. Each time when I sung "I don't remember what you promeeesed" and elongated the end of it, he used to let his body go down at the same time to the floor. I remember how hard it was for me to go through that period, especially, knowing how Sean was managing to hide his tears."
