Social media is generally a perception twisting clusterfuck of noise and distraction, and you won't believe what happens next! Our friend Kutcorners posted up a track featuring Jaykin, who we hadn't hear from in a while. The clickbait worked, and we loved what we heard, noticing the track was by a young singer from New Zealand named Trip Pony. We asked around, got in touch, and the rest is archived under the watchful eye of the Big Brother, as they say. Techno-politics aside, 'Daze' instantly captures listeners of all sorts from pop radio to the R&B set, with a perfect verse at the end from the aforementioned Vancouver based Jaykin. It's absolutely something different for Main Course, and we like that about the record. It's also prime remix material, so we had to call in some big guns from around the world to put their spin on it. Australian rising starts Slumberjack deliver the remix we heard in our dreams from them. Beautiful, completely unique and refreshing, this is a modern-future masterpiece!  Canadian legends Prince Club deliver a dancefloor ready bomb, channelling the chops of classic MK with a little maple syrup drizzled on top..delicious! MEDZ, a new project of New Zealand legend Dick 'Majik' Johnson keeps the tempo the same, whilst increasing the bass and adding in a head nodding swing. Vancouver band The Slow Waves deliver a lovely polished ode to Art of Noise mix, with some added bass guitar and vibe. Lots of vibe. Now, we couldn't forget the festivals, so we called in the big guns, in the form of rising star Aylen who delivers the perfect first pumping, epic chord, hand hearts in the air smasher of a remix. Join the chant of the munted punters, this mix is undeniably powerful! Bringing the package full circle, our good friend Kutcorners delivers a boom bap inspired remix with 'The Freshest' partner Marvel, it's strength in it's simplicity, allowing Trip Pony and Jaykin to shine. All vibes for all crew, let Trip Pony soundtrack your summer!
	
	Trip Pony is the solo project of Auckland, New Zealand based singer / songwriter, Priya Sami (of The Sami Sisters). Priya encapsulates a strong female perspective citing Missy Elliot, Aaliyah and Santigold among her inspirations as well as modern day producers like Timbaland, Kanye West and Pharrell.  “Daze” offers the listener a slice of R&B Dream Pop, produced by Jeremy Toy (Opensouls, She’s So Rad, Hollie Smith) and features Vancouver based MC JayKin one of Canada's strongest and best written MCs.

'Te Ahi Kai Pō' - a song which tries to find resolve through times of despair.

Ria Hall's new single is one of two songs in Te Reo Māori taken from her debut album which is out next Friday October 27. 'Te Ahi Kai Pō' means 'the fire burning away the darkness' and is in reference to finding peace following the aftermath of war. The battle of Te Ranga in June of 1864 is the inspiration for this song, which was an unplanned slaughter of many Māori. This spiritless attack was in retaliation to the battle of Pukehinahina, where the British found themselves at a loss to the Māori.

Drawing on the themes of not only love and war, but also revolution and change, the album Rules Of Engagement was initailly conceived in Wellington and completed in Hall’s ancestral home of Tauranga. The album’s inspiration and concept stem from the New Zealand land wars of the 1800’s, specifically 1864’s Battle of Gate Pā (Pukehinahina).

The inspiration behind the concept comes from a letter written from Henare Taratoa to Sir George Grey, outlining the manner in which the Battle of Gate Pā should ensue, and how both parties should conduct themselves during war. This code of conduct was known as the Rules of Engagement, and is where this project takes its name from.

For Amani Friend and his Liquid Bloom project, the Re:Generations mixes are a gift that keeps on giving. First remixed by AtYyA, who took on the entire album by himself, now an all-star cast of subsonic wizards from around the globe are putting their own spin on these intoxicating tunes. 

Stars of the psychedelic world like Hedflux and Land Switcher pump thrilling bass into “Roots of the Earth”and “Fire Gathering,” respectively. Kaminanda takes “Sacred Blessing” on a more than 11-minute epic journey. Numatik ignites new life into Fire Gathering .Suduaya, Momentology, Salis, and Nanosphere run the gamut from rich, organic strings and ethereal voices to dark, brooding, and bellowing sub bass covering the spectrum from delicate, ambience to pounding grooves. TRIBONEonce again remixes Deya Dova for a Desert Trax release, and Erothyme closes out the collection with a sprawling anthem of lush sounds.

The creative lens of this compilation has focused on the consumption of fossil fuels, primarily the running of transportation. As with previous editions, Green Room 004: Hope has an ethos of individual responsibility, and issues a challenge to the listener to consciously and responsibly take control of their general consumption.

Formed out of the ashes from one of Auckland’s most musically-creative hubs, Yoko-Zuna have in two short years established themselves as one of the most exciting bands in New Zealand. With their combination of unique electronic and hip-hop compositions, and a live show which is rarely bettered, Yoko-Zuna is an act with talent to burn. 

With the release of their debut album, This Place Here, in 2015, Yoko-Zuna announced themselves to the greater music scene with an album showcasing a sound which hasn’t been previously seen in NZ – sub-electronic frequencies, melodic moments, and immense bass-synth-fuelled drops. The album combined Yoko-Zuna’s unique instrumental sound with some of the country’s most talented vocalists including David Dallas, Bailey Wiley, Melodownz and Team Dynamite, and in turn created a huge queue of willing collaborators. 

Not willing to rest on their laurels, May 2016 saw Yoko-Zuna release the Luminols EP, 5 tracks which not only continues to fulfil the promise of their amazing live shows, but also show new depth and versatility to the band’s song-writing abilities. Featuring some of NZ’s biggest vocalists in P-Digsss (Shapeshifter), Laughton Kora and Tom Scott (HomeBrew, @peace), along with the fresh talents of Lukan Rai$ey, HEAVY and Randa, the EP shows a band infusing the genres of electronic/hip-hop with their own inimitable sound. 

2017 saw the band roll all across New Zealand including performances at Rhythm and Vines, Northern Bass, Splore, Soundsplash and Homegrown festivals and debuting at Australia's Big Sound Festival in Brisbane. Yoko-Zuna are set to release their up-coming second album in early 2018. Featuring collaborations with a concoction of new artists including, P-Money, Raiza Biza & Milloux.
