Yonge C is one of Toronto’s hidden gems; under rated, over looked and not appreciated for his real worth. He’s talented beyond means and more than capable of shaking the foundation of this ever evolving music game. Reigning from the Toronto’s north-west end, he’s been on a heavy grind since the early millennium and refuses to stop.
Having been introduced to the sound of music in his early years (his father a musician and composer and his mother a dancer) it’s no shock that he continuously exercises his musical abilities in everything from rapping to song writing. Never one to waste a bar, Yonge fills every verse with, rhythm, rigidity and reality, which with time will prove to be the formula to his triumph.
The road to success has it’s ups and downs and Yonge has definitely been on a ride. He’s gone from free style battling just for fun to winning the Project Idol Competition (2003). He went from forming a Hip Hop group [Lynch Crew] back to making music as a solo artist. He’s released solo projects and has moved on to doing compilations with local and international artists alike such as Omar (UK), Young Jeezy's label CTE's Rossini (US), and Kardinal Offishall (CAN).
Since his latest work , The Great Canadian Show, Yonge has been doing nothing but putting work into his new, solo and collaboration projects. As he continues to master his art, his unique flow and impeccable grind will prove that Yonge C is a treasure that’s waiting to be found.
