지난 15년 동안 젊은 재즈 뮤지션들 사이에 mixed notes를 사용하는 것이 매우 유행하게 되었다. 사실 straight-ahead 4/4가 역사 속으로 사라질 정도로 그것은 유행해왔다. Odd meter의 복잡함 속에서 intention of the statements가 종종 없어지기도 한다. 대신에 박민선은 “Sky Traveler”에서 Leo, Mark, 그리고 Jay Rattman과 음악을 좀 더 쉽게 만들어가며 그루브를 표현하고 있다. Jay의 훌륭한 솔로는 박민선의 음악적 탐험을 훌륭히 완성해 내고 있다. 이 트리오의 음악적 호흡을 충분히 느낄 수 있는 곡으로 바람을 타고 하늘을 여행하는 듯한 느낌을 준다.

Yoonmi Choi

She started plauing the piano at the age of 3. In the beginning she learned only classi music. As she grew up with music, she became more and more interested in music, so she decided to go to 'Inchon music high school'. During the high school period, she was very active in many copetitions. she won 'Donga composit competition' 2nd prize, and 'Jusung University Classic music competition' 3rd prize and so on.
 After the graduation, she entered prestigious 'Sookmyung Women`s university' in Seoul as a classical piano student and finished the degree. after graduate she began to take an act as a musician in church. The result, she was able to produce a christian album and this experience initiated her interest in Pop and Jazz. She also performed as a band in the other countries; namely, Japan, Phillipine and China.

After all her expriences, she returned to Korea and was admitted to a top Jazz college 'Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts college'  in South Korea. During that time she also won 'Calvin college Jazz competitio'n 1st prize(2009) and  'Hoseo University CCM competition' 2nd prize(2010). In her college time, she participated in Summer Jazz school and got an opportunity to be introduced to Prins Claus Consevatory in Groningen Netherlands.

  And she managed to enter the school in 2010. she got lesson from famous jazzpianist David Berkman, Jasper Soffers and Marc van Roon.  With the band “Yoonmi choi Trio” she is finalist of the “Dordtse Jazz Prijs 2012′ in Dodrecht, the Netherlands. 
 Even thought her start in Jazz was rather late (it`s only 3 and half years) she managed to achieve a lot and she is still improving in a good tempo.
