British electronic music artist Futurecop! released his latest album ‘From Oceans Within’ on the New York record label NewRetroWave Records.

Manzur Iqbal of Futurecop! on his album: “The album has been created as a soundtrack to a movie. It’s something I usually do on all my albums but this time the music I created for “From Oceans Within” is a massive progression of the music I do, which has always been about creating a feeling that is heartfelt, ethereal and up-lifting. I searched high and low through books, film and music, some popular and some even obscure, to really find inspiration to this album. It’s the dream album that I always wanted to create since I first started way back in 2007. It is the album I’ve spent most time crafting and designing and it really does capture the true essence of the music and themes I have always tried to express when I write music. Everything from the sounds, to the vocalists that feature on some of the tracks, are on a higher transcendent level”.

Influences and themes range from a variety of books, music and film, everything from Alan Watts, Enigma, Enya, Vangelis, Hans Zimmer, Joe Hisaishi to films such as Empire of the sun, Chariots of fire, to The Mission and Dances with Wolves.

Since 2015 Futurecop!’s singles/albums have generated over 16 million streams on Spotify alone. He did official remixes for Kelly Clarkson, Foster The People and Cliff Martinez "DRIVE" Soundtrack 10th Anniversary. Various sync deals with numerous production companies followed, including "Roadies" by "Star Wars" producer J.J. Abrams and Oscar winner Cameron Crowe.

Reverse (Gryff & Primo the Alien)

Thought it would be nice to share the next step in the creative process on this one. Like everything we did I loved Col's starting point and instrumental bed. I felt that to carry a song structure, the harmonic potential needed to be explored. In this instance, I took key stems and re-voiced chords to evolve the verse and develop a scratch arrangement to accommodate melody / lyric on. A sort of deconstructing process before building back with the toppling.  I sent it back to Col, to refine and work his magic, adding the ear candy! Enjoy
