It’s been almost a decade since the Bosnian Techno-House heavyweight Sinisa Tamamovic made his Yoshitoshi debut with his signature dark and high-energy sound. After five releases (and two remixes), Tamamovic is back on Yoshi with arguably his best work yet, the Hypnotised EP.

The second track of the EP 'Drop.' ‘Drop’ features trance-inducing bass synths that feel like you are floating in the depths of the ocean. The track is a lesson in finely crafted grooves with impeccable sound design.

“This DJ Mix includes my new release ‘Human Life’ out now on Yoshitoshi Records. It features vocals by rising talent Jinadu who recently won a Grammy. I actually chose to play the Eran Hersh remix of my original track, here as the opening tune for the DJ set. The session is composed of a blend of deep house, indie dance, melodic techno, and more. I don’t like to be stuck in one genre. Most of those tunes I play regularly in my sets here in Paris, there are also a couple of bootlegs like the one I close my mix with, I’ll let you play it to find out what it is, it’s a very effective tune for the closing, quite emotional :)”

Poker Flat Recordings welcome the new year with a stellar release. Florian Kruse, who cut his teeth on Hamburg’s underground scene before relocating to Berlin, teams up with vocalist / producer Hendrik Burkhard for the 'Move In Slow Motion' EP. The pair worked together on the huge 'We Own the Night' last year, which garnered rave reviews from DJs and dancers alike.

This EP continues the vibe with a main mix that exemplifies their masterful production skills. Dark and techy, the track builds and unfolds over seven glorious minutes. The atmosphere is lifted by Burkhard’s affecting, beautifully performed vocals.

Also on the release is a stripped down Dub mix, and third track - 'Hold On' - which is a perfect companion piece to 'Move In Slow Motion'. The exceptional sound design results in a premium tech house cut - full of tension, inventive flourishes and dancefloor potential.

Following his uplifting 2015 single Holdin’ On and its techy B-side Faces, Rony Seikaly is back for another release on Yoshitoshi that proves this renaissance man is a force to be reckoned with in modern house music.  The two tracks on this EP possess deep grooves, but also flex a fair amount of melodic muscle.  They liken back to the sound Yoshitoshi became well known for in its infancy.  

The Sword centers around some tribal percussion and carefully woven melodic ideas, but the track’s focus is decidedly on low end.  A burly, assertive bass gives the mix a driving character suited for late nights.  At time it feels like a modern take on progressive house from another era.

All Of A Sudden is more or less an extension of the first track, giving the EP defined consistency.  It’s a delicately arranged and straightforward house feeler; the meat coming from a multitude of interlaced chords and melodies maneuvering carefully over more tribal percussion and a monstrous kick.  The mission here is to inspire awe and wonder in dancers, and Seikaly delivers on both accounts.

This EP will find a comfortable home in the crates of DJ’s looking for elegant constructions that crush in the club.  We hope you enjoy Seikaly’s The Sword EP.

For our all-important first release of 2021, we welcome Warung back to Yoshitoshi with their latest EP, titled ‘In My Mind’. Supported by Deep Dish on their livestreams.
Since their debut on Yoshitoshi with “Memora” on last year’s Four Points IV EP, Boston-based production duo Warung has been on a rapid rise. Aside from handling remix duties for Wolf Story & Dantiez Saunderson’s “Peak” for Yoshitoshi, the pair has made some notable drops, including a collaboration with Nox Vahn on Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep imprint. 
The title track “In My Mind” pulls you into the unique hypnotic world of Warung, with an infectious baseline, and airy vocals that loop in your head interspersed with images of happy dancing people with hands in the air in a smoke-filled club. 
"Loathing in Dub" is a pure tune that can easily fit into a deep house set, grounded with gritty stabs, and synths that can make any poolside party groove with joy. 
“Lifeline" is a journey in and of itself. With a distorted vocal resembling that of a dancefloor confessional, topped with emotive keys and intriguing drones, complete with a serendipitous breakdown. The track is deep and melancholic yet pensive and delightful. In other words, get ready for some goosebumps.
