Without any doubt, Sound Quelle presents the most anticipated EP of 2015 on Silk Textures: "Allarg / Fog". Thanks to early radio support from Above & Beyond, in addition to its inclusion on our "Only Silk 03" album, "Allarg" has already become a fan favorite on our calendar this year. It's a thrill to finally release it in full, unmixed form, alongside the lush and deep B-side cut, "Fog".

Kicking off with an uptempo deep-progressive house rhythm and an unforgettable "cosmic" synth theme, "Allarg" is a mesmerizing aural journey from start to finish. The bassline really takes off at the quarter turn, while a variety of starry synth lines and martian-friendly samples add tremendous depth to the soundscape. The main break features a gorgeous orchestral theme, coupled with the cinematic spacial elements. Yet, the most memorable moment occurs when a newly added piano line is joined by an ethereal vocal theme. Who knew that getting abducted could feel (and sound) so great?

Fans of more "traditional" deep house will love "Fog", the super smooth, groove-happy tune that rounds out Sound Quelle's EP. The resonant bassline from the early going gives this one a wonderful dancefloor-friendly swing, while jazzy instrumentation and subtle vocal stabs give the midrange a buoyant and, at times, euphoric vibe. In the main break, a noir-inspired saxophone adds an incredibly evocative aura to the already blissful soundscape.

Way Out West (a.k.a Nick Warren & Jody Wisternoff) present their new studio album - ‘Tuesday Maybe’ - to be released on June 16th on Anjunadeep (“One of the hottest electronic labels in the world” - Hype Machine).

The pioneering duo have forged a reputation as as one of the UK’s most influential electronic acts in their 25 years together, reaching the Top 20 of the UK’s singles chart, touring their live show globally, and remixing the likes of Orbital, Unkle, James Holden, St. Etienne and Ian Brown.

In addition to their impressive collaborative back catalogue, the duo are both internationally renowned DJs in their own right. Nick runs the influential Soundgarden label and has helmed eight instalments of the iconic Global Underground compilation series. Jody released a solo album on Anjunadeep in 2012 and has since mixed the last four editions of the labels much-loved compilation series, all of which have topped the iTunes Dance Album chart.

They now return as Way Out West with ‘Tuesday Maybe’ their fifth LP, and their first in almost eight years.

Known for fusing elements of breaks, techno, trance and progressive house, Nick and Jody again combine wide-ranging influences on their new album. Title track ‘Tuesday Maybe’ has become something of a cult favourite since it’s release in early 2016, it’s haunting melody and rolling low-end becoming a firm favourite for the likes of Pete Tong, Lee Burridge and John Digweed. Parisian legend I:Cube worked his magic on an atmospheric remix that was supported by Mano Le Tough, Ricardo Villalobos and Maceo Plex.

Across the LP we hear a contemporary take on classic Way Out West elements, from raucous basslines and ravey breakbeats on ‘Set My Mind’ and ‘Slam’, to warm melodic deep house on ‘Lullaby Horizon’ and ‘We Move In The Dark’, featuring vocals from Hendrik Burkhard. The duo collaborate with five vocalists on the album, including label-mates Eli & Fur on opening track ‘Running Away’, and former Solomun collaborator Liu Bei on ‘Oceans’.

Released alongside the announcement of the album, ‘Oceans’ is a trademark piece of emotive dancefloor music from Nick and Jody, pairing textured melodies with haunting vocals.

Throughout 2017 Way Out West bring their well-honed live show to venues large and small across North America and the UK, with a notable performance at Glastonbury Festival in June the week after the album’s release.

‘Tuesday Maybe’ is set to be the eigth artist album to be released on Anjunadeep, an A&R hotbed celebrated for the release of debut LPs from Dusky, Cubicolor and Lane 8. With nearly 300 single releases and a string of iTunes #1 albums and compilations under its belt, the label has distinguished itself as one of the scene’s leading imprints, earning glowing coverage everywhere from Resident Advisor to Pitchfork, whilst receiving heavy support on BBC Radio 1 from Annie Mac, Pete Tong, B.Traits and Phil Taggart.

We are pleased to welcome Qatar-based talent A.M.R to the label. His past work reflects a penchant for uplifting, peak-hour trance & progressive. Yet, with the three-track offering "Orchids," A.M.R explores much deeper sonic terrain, to exceedingly moving effect.

"Orchids" begins its slow burn with an expansive soundscape, tinged with a rising chime. Mellow piano keys patiently flicker against the developing backdrop. The one-minute mark sets ablaze a spark of hypnotic percussion, as a deep bass hums below the flame. A suspenseful buildup ultimately reveals a delicately executed combination of haunting piano keys and moving strings. 
 
"Uncharted" establishes a chilled groove in the early going, but soon begins to crescendo, as an ethereal combination of vocal and instrumental motifs enter the mix. Angelic vocal samples reverberate through the soundscape, as do each poignant keystroke of the piano. At midpoint, the song fully reveals itself as a dichotomous exploration of both hope and sorrow. The track's concluding moments, replete with indelible melodic themes, offer us sanctuary from the terrestrial concerns that underpin our anxiety and deepest fears.

Evoking the isolation of its namesake, "One Man Island"'s hollow piano keys transport us to a solitary space, removed from the bustle of metropolitan life. Here, we revel in the mellow musings made possible through pensive solitude. Airy soundscapes welcome familiar elements of the track's predecessors, while leaving more than ample space for it to remain compositionally unique. Primitive vocal effects, coupled with slick percussive effects, position the song firmly in upbeat and emotive territory.

Moon Boots’ debut album First Landing was a rare slow burn in today’s disposable music culture, steadily amassing a broad international following and an impressive 35 million streams since its release in August 2017. With Bimini Road, Moon Boots has brought back collaborators from both his debut album and his ambitious 7-person live show. Black Gatsby (“Power”), Nic Hanson (‘Keep The Faith’), and KONA (‘Fortune Teller’) all make appearances that help to make Bimini Road Moon Boots’ most compelling musical statement to date. Ross Clark (St Lucia) contributes guitar to three of the album’s hookiest and most affecting tracks. Moon Boots’ eagerness to bring melody and songcraft to unpredictable-but-accessible club grooves make him stand out in a crowded field of beatmakers and careerists.

Born in Brooklyn, Moon Boots gravitated toward music at an early age, spending many years playing piano, keyboards, and synthesizers before he ever made a beat. Our label staff man oft he month Philipp Stoya made such an deep and isocronal uplifting mix, which we love so much. A killer tune! A trippy peaktime hit. Well, the original by Estonian Madpac is also a lovely jubbly fluffy house tune, notably when the beloved melody parts coming in. Quintessentially a Compost-ish tune, isn’t it. Contemporary sound and timeless. Btw.: if you miss Compost Black Label # 100, then be advised it will be the very first full length Compost Black Label artist album by an usual suspect.
Madpac, and by the name his mother calls him, Madis Pähno, was born in 1987 in Tartu Estonia. Strange ways got him into the point, where he is now. Starting with violin studies in children’s music school, singing in high quality boys choir, studying to become an electrician, no way this kid could grow up to be an outstanding talent in electronically music sphere, but that’s exactly what has happened.
Madpac has stated that his relationship with music started at the age of five, which culminated in 10 years of music studies, first at Ülenurme Music school then at the prestigious Heino Eller’s Music School. In the beginning of year 2000 Madpac switched from strangling the violin into something totally different: electronic music. By the year 2005 Madpac was good to go and started playing records on different events. At the beginning all sorts of techno tracks dominated in his set lists but those techno tracks turned deeper and deeper. Sadly, there wasn’t enough audience to understand the depths of such music, so Madpac took a little break of DJing.
Fortunately the show went on and is still in progress as we speak. So much free time lead Madpac onto the roads of composing electronic music and it didn’t take much time until his first single „Gas or Grass EP“ was released in 2010. Now Madpac has released 37 songs at his SoundCloud page and 28 of them are his own original creation. Madpac has also achieved a really pleasant teamwork with his childhood friend Ms. Henno, whose vocals are richening several tracks amongst these 37.
Now, Madpac is still producing fine electronic music and at the beginning of 2013 he and Ms. Henno released a jazz-electronic album „Ms. Henno - Sõrme Otsaga“ for free. (http://mshenno.dj-madpac.com/)
