"I wanted to record a mix using some of the music I played at the first 3 parties in 2022. Expect claps, deeper sections, a fair bit of keys & (literally) sexy beats."

for the second iteration of our You Mean So Much CAST series, we have Jelle (From The Block) @jellefromtheblock who opened the floor at the very first party we had back in april 2022.
"When I recorded this set, I wanted to create something that would capture what a night out at You Mean So Much would sound to me. A musical journey starting off slow & easy-going, like when the first people start to enter the club. As the dancefloor begins to fill up, the music gradually builds up in energy as well. You would hear a nice mix of disco & house tracks throughout the night, some familiar & some unknown. You would dance with a crowd of music lovers & people just there for a good night out. I have very fond memories playing at the first edition & going there myself several times. I really enjoyed trying to translate these memories into this mix."

Deepest of the deep, a 90 minute master class from your fave deej's, fave deej Niall Kirk. A special 2023 physical edition of the much loved 1800 triiip series and a long time in the works. 45 mins each side covering the groovier, hip hop and R&B influenced sounds of Kwaito in the 90's, sourced from strictly tapes, through to SA dance and house that is so loved by dance floors around the world today.

fourth CAST & a special one as this was live recorded at the party we threw back in may 2023. @murrinmusic & @glenstefani (name is still 'work in progress') delivered nearly 4hours of complet bonkers from all genres, all under 110bpm, ROOM ONE HUNDRED style.
"First time we played together on this one & it was a lot of fun! We selected a couple of hours of this recorded dubby/chuggy b2b which we feel represents best the journey we took the crowd to."

Coming up next on Released Control on RBL Berlin we are thrilled to be featuring a 2 hour guestmix by Ciao Caio and Jelle from the Block, who will bring some sunshine into the grey days.

Ciao Caio kicking off the first hour with tropical sounds ranging from Brazilian street soul, Axé, Zouk, Latin and Balearic influences. The second hour Jelle from the Block is following up with more Brazilian Disco, Soul & Funk as well as Latin and Baeleric. He also recently started a new event series called Íntimo Orangerie Neukölln together with the host Eclectic Elektra, with the first event taking place on the 2nd of November.
