so this is a remix I did for the lovely Phoebe Ryan - the original is such a beautiful, uplifting thing, but it took me awhile to wrap my head around what to do with it. so i closed my eyes, took some deep breaths, lit some candles, said some voodoo chants etc etc, and boom the remix was done

but actually this was one of the smoothest, least bang my head against the keyboard remixes i've ever done. it's a bit different than a lot of my other stuff, but everything just flowed super well when i was making it and i'm really happy with how it came out, so ENJOY!! and keep an eye out, news about next original tune coming soon!

So I have a super dope producer friend named _________ who actually has his own original tune with Chelsea and when he hit me up to remix it I was like "holy f, I need to find this girl and make a song (or 10) with her." I slid into her Soundcloud DM's shortly thereafter and she was like, "Omg I love your Kanye remix it's on all of my playlists," hilarious. Anyway, we had the idea of doing a kind of different mashup/cover/remix/something Soundcloud hopefully doesn't take down and BOOM we got this. We decided which two songs we wanted to use and literally within three days she had sent me over the top line for it with some crazy harmonies and all. Crazy how sometimes a vision just comes about. Low and behold - here is something that we are both SUPER proud of and hope you guys love as much as we do!! <3

It's 2016. Sorry for the delay in new music. Over the last month we've been focused on building our new sandal company. We've conceptually designed a new type of sandal with rockets in the heels that also works as a cell phone. So basically you can fly and talk at the same time but you have to yell really loudly because the rockets make a lot of noise. It's a work in progress, guys. We'll work out the kinks soon. However, while we were visiting suppliers in China, we had a few hours to crank out this remix. You guys might know Rozes from The Chainsmokers' hit single "Roses". This track is called "Burn Wild", which is also the slogan for our rocket sandals. For 2016, we're only going to focus on remixing songs about either transportation or communication technology (like our sandals). This song isn't about either but who cares when you're going fast.

The first time Martin heard this song on the radio, he called me (Tristan) up and was like, "you HAVE to hear this new song by Alessia Cara! It has this dope 'ay ay ay ahhh' vocal chant in the chorus!" Right away, we thought about how awesome it would be to remix it. Then about a week later, our manager emailed us the track (without knowing how much we liked it) and asked us if we wanted to take a stab at it. No brainer.

Anyways, we had so much fun making this remix! We made a crazy vocal chop in the drop, I played a little guitar, and it was our first time working with a rap. Hope you guys like it, and if you do, PLEASE give it a heart on HypeM. Thanks!

Ok so you’re prob sitting there, iced coffee in hand, hungover af from the weekend, with half the tracks in your Soundcloud feed being Bring Back the Summer remixes, being like what on earth made someone want to do yet another one…I get that. And yea, this may have knocked off Hello or Somebody I Used to Know for most remixed song of all time - the amount of trap arms thrown to this track already is seriously mind-boggling.  BUT…I had to do it.  If you’ve been following me for a while you know I don’t shy away from songs that have been remixed to death (Kanye, Lights, The Feeling…) and that I always bring something new to the table.  

Pretty sure this is the first track I’ve heard Oly sing on but her voice is unreal and was a dream to work with.  Rain Man crushed the original mix of this and to me, the only way to do a proper remix was to go in a completely different direction…new chords, new melody, totally flip the style even though it’s the same tempo as the original.  I went with some really vibey and unusual chords (I’m gonna do a tutorial on how I made this track for the producers out there) that gave it a good summer feel and hope this is gonna live at the top of your playlists all summer long.  

Fun Facts:
1 - There is no greater luxury in life than having way too many iPhone chargers.  I've got one in every outlet in my apartment now and short of having a yacht or being Calvin Harris it is literally the most baller shi* ever.
2 - I went to see Robyn at Gov Ball instead of The Strokes.  BRING ON THE HATE
3 - If you eat pineapple while mastering a tropical house track the music gods will bestow on you 1 extra dB of loudness.
4 - Quick music theory lesson of the day (QMTLOTD) - this remix uses what I like to call the Teenage Dream chord trick...start on the IV, never resolve to the I, until the very last note of the song...gives a track a driving, endless feel that sounds unusual since people are so used to hearing progressions resolve to the tonic.  More about this in the tutorial coming soon!

We are beyond excited to finally share with you our remix of one of our favourite tracks of the year, Bazzi's smash, "Mine". To be completely transparent with you, we went through a bit of an emotional journey while creating this song. We at first fell in love with the direction we had chosen to take it down, including our older 80's/90's influences, but then upon nearing completion we felt a sudden change of heart. We wondered if we had strayed too far from the spark of the original that captivated millions of people around the world. That being said, we decided to stick to our vision and we are so happy we did. After spending a good amount of time apart from it and then circling back with fresh ears, we both feel that this is one of our best remixes to date. We hope you guys agree!
