Joining us for Tapes #170 is Lulah Francs, a DJ, vocalist, songwriter and producer whose musical roots run deep, growing up between Ibiza and London with house music firmly embedded in her DNA.

"This mix focuses on the tunes that have been there for the middle section of my career. Everyone talks about the beginning of how it started for them and what tunes shaped them, and then how it is now in the current moment, but I rarely see so much about the tunes that come in the middle, the ones that shape you from possibly one thing to another, ones that you have with you at all times, not the foundations but the building blocks, the songs that have kept me safe and held me in undeniably the hardest sections of my career at times, the transitional rather than the transformational.

Don’t let perfectionism prevent you from following your dreams. Our gathering seams like from a past life, when skies were less grey and happy people met under the fluorescent lights. But don’t let your mind trick you, we moved on but yet we’re still there, just like a quantum here and there at the same time. And even if we cannot explain the system of multiple states at once, we can witness it. Don’t try to measure, stop overthinking. Just be.
Following the waves of @soyoon_kr emitted on September 13, we'll be traveling through astral worlds just like a tiny frequency, made to expand into the universe, going through genres and styles like they were cosmic phenomena born out of the one maternal nebula.

To say this has been our bucket list gig of all time would still be an understatement. We are blown away by the love (and stamina), from everyone that stayed up with us to the most glorious sun-drenched 7am of our lives.

We’d love to thank the entire hard working and talented team at this festival! And special thanks to our dearest friend Katie Pearson for being the best stage manager and friend in the world, we felt so held and safe up there, and to Milly for added moral support 🙂

Jonah, who is the co-founder of PDA and long time Fandango dance floor icon & DJ has suffered an accident from which he is currently in recovery.

We are so proud of & thankful for Jonah and PDA for everything we have been through together. We share this mix as a fond reminder of those times and in hope for the future.

From earliest days in Kake, to the mountains of Ukraine and in each & every Lighthouse season, Jonah has been a committed and prolific member of the community. With the memorable DJ sets Jonah has performed along with all of the real talk party talk surrounding these moments, the impact & inspiration from Jonah on Fandango is significant.

Cold wave, minimal techno, electro abstract, avant- hard, hardcore techno, break core, IDM, EBM, Death Rock, punk Rock, New Wave,Dark Wave, Ambient, MiamiBootyBase, SpeedBase, Dub, RagaMuffin, Dubstep, Industrial, Noise, Experimental, world beat...did I forget anything?  Neophyte, for sure, and these are all my newly found treasures, that I have dug up from around the world.  One day I will produce some tracks again, until then, I will spend every minute listening to all the newly found gems!
