Jay Fay is 18 years old and has already rocked shows with Drake, Steve Aoki, Wale and Hood Internet, to name just a few. The St. Louis producer / dj / percussionist has many styles, from House and Kuduro to Dancehall and Hip-Hop. Bonkers is his debut EP, showcasing the genre he's become best known for, Moombahton. Not regular slowed-down, mashed-up edits, but fully evolved original anthems with insane laser synths, dubstep growls and wobbles, electro bass and percussive trickery. Did we mention huge build ups? Got those too! Support from Dillon Francis, Toddla T, Crookers, Munchi, Congorock, Tittsworth? Yes!

Philadelphia's music scene has always been known as a "barrel of crabs," a swarm of aggressive talents ripping each other to shreds trying to climb towards the light.  It doesn't have to be that way.  

In the spirit of "Brotherly Love," Philly's finest emerging dance band, Nicos Gun has linked arms with one of the city's most forward-thinking dance labels, Young Robots, to create "We Could Die," a retrofuturistic remix single that puts the 215's best foot forward.

The original version of "We Could Die" chugs with Miami Vice-worthy synth-tensity, with a dose of vocals that brim with youthful nihilism and sex appeal.  

Young Robots' label co-chief DJ Apt One (of Philadelphyinz and RCMP fame) double dips with two remixes.  First, a re-imagination that drenches the vocals in a sprinkle of Purple Rain, then a deconstructive, funky "Disco Dub" that teases the listener with seductively funky disco bass until it bursts with dancefloor intensity.  

Vancouver's Kutcorners brings a smooth shuffle to his mix, with warm synths that make you want to put the top down and spin down South Street.  

Lastly, Peter Dragontail, adds not only a remix, but also contributes the cover art in his 215-famous signature style.  Like his breakout single "Crazy Bout You" (f/ Maggie Horn), Peter's remix has a slow burn, and he uses vocals to cast an eerie ambiance over his driving 3AM electro burner.

Young Robots and Nicos Gun will curate a release event at Kung Fu Necktie in Philly on April 20th, 2012 at DJ Apt One's monthly disco night "The Ball."  The night features Nicos Gun, Dragon King, Tunde Olaniran & Miz Korona (Exchange Bureau, Detroit), Peter Dragontail, DJ Apt One and DJ Bruce.

RCMP - Love The Music (Fifteenth Remix)

DJ Fashen has been one of the top club DJs in the US for at least the last ten years, but this is his first release of original music.  He's an absolute genius on the turntables, an incredible performer, and his energy and knowledge translates perfectly in this three song EP.

The Phoenix native (he came up with Z-Trip) had already been ripping for years on commercial radio and in nightclubs all over the US before being hand picked by DJ AM for Deckstar, which propelled him into the upper echelon alongside AM, Jazzy Jeff and Steve Aoki.  This landed him gigs playing for Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, 50-Cent, and the Kardashians, and as a Skam Artist DJ he continues to tour the world, somehow also finding time to hold down Dim Mak Sundays at Drai's Hollywood with Thee Mike B.  

But that's just his DJ pedigree; let's get into the music. Frankly we were shocked when Fashen gave us the demos: they're so damn good, we thought maybe he had some help.  But no, he's just been in the lab grinding!  "So Complete" is comprised of three groovy house jams, with big disco hooks, funky filters and chops, and buildups crafted by an expert in lighting the dance floor on fire. If we had to put this in a box, it would go next to SOS Band, Bag Raiders, Duck Sauce, The Commodores, Alan Braxe and early Bob Sinclar.
