In an increasingly saturated electronic music landscape, there’s something captivating about a track that comes together almost by accident, yet stands out with a clear, confident identity. That’s the case with “Often”, a track born during a daytime studio session, sparked by a spontaneous groove from a Moog bass. From that moment, the direction was set: intentional minimalism and a groove that just works.

The track came to life over two focused sessions — a nine-hour creative marathon followed by a tighter four-hour wrap-up. But what makes “Often” especially compelling is its stripped-back approach: fewer than 30 stems, a lead synth with subtle Middle Eastern flair, and drums that hit just hard enough to own a peak-time main set.

One standout anecdote shows how studio “accidents” can lead to breakthroughs: the main kick was accidentally muted for nearly an hour. In the meantime, the track was built entirely around the bass. When the kick finally returned, everything clicked — like the last piece of a puzzle. The moment was a powerful reminder of the importance of negative space in production — sometimes the absence of a sound shapes the track more than the sound itself.

I Operate in Purple weaves together inspirations drawn from hundreds of visited cities, thousands of parties, and countless life moments, that have helped shape his vibrant journey. The third single to drop from I O P is Higher Place, once again a collaboration with Brighton trio ‘Kuuda’. Higher Place is an anthemic and joyful original singalong that’s carried by on a powerful disco infused house juggernaut. A certain nameless electronic music star loved the track so much he made his own version for Yousef as a gift!  This has summer festivals written all over it. Simply huge!

After All That pays tribute to the classic Gab Rhome groove - a housey beat overlays soothing vocals, reigning in the ropes for the b-side. A charming melody brings light to a tune driven by a sad and reflective message, with Gab himself providing the vocal chops.

"The pace of the vocal in After All That is inspired by RnB, soul music and general warmth. In fact, it's a bit of a contradiction to In The Rain There's No Lane." It's a tune for the calmer moments, with a groove that allows thoughts to flow freely. "The goal was to go for the cream on top of an espresso: packed with flavor, comforting, and a goosebump-based cure for a sleepy soul."
