Dj Lbr est sans conteste l'un des meilleurs djs de l'histoire du clubbing français. Vice-champion de France DMC en 88, c..est cette même année que commence Radio Star. Puis suivront Radio Nova avec Cutkiller etEast, Skyrock, NRJ et Radio FG. Membre fondateur du Double H, Dj Lbr est le seul dj de sa génération aavoir brisé les frontières et produit aux états-unis. C..est en 1998 que Dj Lbr va signer sur le fameux label de Party Break Av8 record dont il devient le principal artiste avec Crooklyn Clan et Fatman Scoop. Sescollaborations sont nombreuses aux cotés de Cutkiller, Big Ali, Fatman Scoop, Stike, Dax Rider, Cheb Mami, C, ls, Hasheem, Big Red, Superfunk etc etc etc... Dj Lbr est avant tout un dj club, son sens hors norme du dance floor déchaine les foules comme lors de la première partie de Usher au Zénith ou encorede Craig David. Côté club, Dj Lbr a été le résident du Palace, le résident des soirées légendaires Supafly aux Bains, résident avec Cutkiller à St Tropez pour les soirées de Puff Daddy, dj pour Janet (Buddah Bar), Mariah Carey (Manray), David Bowie (Manray), Naomi Campbell (Nikki Beach) et la liste est longue... DjLbr a également lancé les soirées Party Up au Gibus avec Big Jourvil, qui sont la nouvelle référence crunk..nb sur la capitale... Dj Lbr est en ce moment résident a Maison blanche, Duplex, Gibus et Palais M... Les productions Av8 sont toujours dans les bacs à travers le monde et Dj Lbr mixe de Paris à Dubai en passant par Tokyo et San Paolo.

Bahama Soul Club’s 5th album draws deep inspiration from the multicultural verve of young worldy folk drawn to the Bohemian coasts of the most southwestern part of Europe, where hippiesque hedonism, infinite musical diversity, and offbeat enchanted lifestyles fuel the scene.
„From countless ideas and numerous demos over the past four years, we handpicked those few songs that shone the brightest. “2018 saw a single release 'Never Roam No More' featuring the legendary John Lee Hooker. 2019 'Aint Nobody's Business' featuring Billie Holiday hit the scene. Another real legend, Sister Wynona Carr is featured on 'Tears Run Down'. „Increasingly during production we became aware of the amazing complexity of local artists, talented individuals to be found performing all day and night in the bars and near the beaches. It would take more than a couple of albums to bring these troubadours together. So there are exciting ideas for the future!
For this album we began with just few, an eclectic mix, and we found our studio blessed with some serious vibes. Josephine Nightingale 'Mercy Me', 'Castelejo' and Taly Minkov-Louzeiro 'Troubles all be gone'. The ultimate track on the album 'Castelejo' is dear to our hearts and an homage to the late Vitor Hugo, featuring Rui Correia on accordeon and vocals by Cutty Wren and Hedvig Larsson. These artists are from the local neighborhood, quite literally across the lane. What a blessing, what a discovery! Last but not least … One of the most exciting voices in the Bahama Soul Club family so far ... an ongoing love, Cuban artist Arema Arega is somewhat a permanent feature and shows her talents in 'Mango' and 'Alma Sola'.
As if this weren't enough we're more than proud to announce two cool remixes from the masters of the scene: 
Mighty Club des Belugas and SMOOVE himself! Nuff said.

Wooden Boy (Part 3) is the first single from The Cactus Channel's sophomore album "Wooden Boy" out Sept 2 on HopeStreet Recordings on vinyl LP/CD/digital.

It’s soul music, baby, but not as we know it. The backbeat and the handclaps are still there and the horns still sound. The bass bumps, the organ screams and the guitars still twang, but the singer has left the room. Everything is shades of blue. This is soul music for the after hours. For the solitary dancers and the lonely hearts. The soundtrack to solitary headlights on a midnight highway. What to call it? Who cares. Can you dance to it? Just try not to. No one’s telling you to throw your hands up in the air, but no one would be surprised if you did. It’s dark here, so you can do your own thing.

Wooden Boy was recorded by The Cactus Channel -- a ten piece band from Melbourne, Australia -- all born in the 90s and raised on the internet. Yet somehow, this astonishing follow up to last year's rave-reviewed debut, Haptics, sounds like it could have been recorded in the 1970s, or possibly in the distant future. A timeless, placeless cinematic oddysey, Wooden Boy could have been an alternate soundtrack to Ghost Dog -- if Lalo Schifrin and the Meters were collaborating on the RZA's score. Or maybe Wooden Boy was what happened when Lars Von Trier got invited to direct an episode of Soul Train. What any of it may actually mean is left to the listener's imaginantion.

Funk aficionados will hear shades of New York on this record, echoes of El Michel’s taking on Wu Tang, the influence of Budos and Menehan et al. But this is the Generation Z version; both more tempestuous and more introverted. Recorded analog in the digital era, presented faceless in the celebrity era, inexplicably ambiguous in the soundbite era, is this the album the world needs right now? Undoubtedly yes. In a world where the NSA can read the text message that dumped you, what does a person need more than sad soul music from the future? Wooden Boy, baby Wooden Boy.
