For what little time we are allotted
Before you must shut your doors
Or break down theirs again.

How many goodbyes will you be made to say?
Before you turn upon the ones giving the order
How far will you debase yourself?
In the name of an honour you fail to see
And know cannot be upheld beyond a farce..
A wooly hide.

Too many lambs, slaughtered on newly fertile ground
Fighting dressed as wolves
For a true pack who bay at their rear
In the howling shadows of manipulation
Where through fear of being prey
Men become dogs

If only you had learned to act
To play the part on this great stage
Then you could lounge behind the curtain
When the cameras go off												  
With another scene complete
Sipping on your follies
And watching the crowd flock to the performance
A religious show of intolerance
In the name of freedom
Performed with upmost commitment
Safe
Above the narrative.

But no
You choose ignorance
And still have learned to act without profit
A persistent need to fit
To be accepted and normal
With no stones slung to you Which couldn't have been cast by your hand
To go where you are told you're needed
Knowing you are only needed to go.
A great fan fair? a hero to be?
Or a burning reminder, that sometimes death is sweeter
As you lay in your hole
Rifle in hand And pull the trigger
To end a hard fight never fought
A mother's tears never seen.

There will be no way back to you
Who crosses those bridges
With plans to burn them
In your wake is death
On your horizon, the same
I should choose to bathe in ashes
Wade through embers
And bring back the memories 
Of real people and places
A pandora's box of preserved regrets, fear and hatred
spewed across the earth in the name of their progress
Towards a world which does not need you
Bathed in ashes
Sing the hymns of divine wrath
Cross their burned bridges
with hatred in your heart
Knowing better which way to aim
Go home, adorned in the foresight of what shall be given to all with time
And burn down the playwrights home
Before the next stage is set
And the narrative spews
From those little lambs
Who will learn too late
What it means to destroy.

Wasting their semen upon one another
As symbolic representations of a cycle's end
A dead generation which wants for little more than itself
In an orgy of dismissal
Groping at what little makes them feel young

These child-like adults 
Fuelled by lust and regrets
And a bitter over compensation for shame
They have turned their own destruction into kinks
Have you? Have I?
And how far from your bedroom does it extend?
Proudly degraded
Rather than thinking
You must fully commit
To being the truest you you could ever be

All of it goes in one ear and out the other
After all
There is nothing more interesting in passing the time
Than the notion itself
Especially when it's pace slows
And it's presence becomes all too noticeable
An uncanny burden is the mind which counts it's heart 
As if it were an old clock                            
Desperate to shut it up                               
Irritant like the buzzing of a fly                    
Now is the time to drown out the world                
Beneath the neon glow of the placated's savior       
A desperate hue of stalemate encapsulation            
Another's vision in place of your own                 
Yet, never fulfilling.
So quick, yet constant
As all merges together into a flickering mirage
Of life's mockery
Wherein the frame soon surveys the pictured
Whose existence can't compare, or so convinced.
The mind grows ripe

Socializing through drug purchases    
To enhance the passing of time                        
Escaping it's acknowledgement
In foggy denial
Puffs of magic dragons
Cloud a smoky mirror

And desperate to deny it's reflection
Symbolic of fairytales before pipe dreams.
How many sit passively
Wishing they were the ones on screen
Dreaming of "Fitting into that red dress"
Whilst drugged and stuffed on a couch
Watching their ideals mirrored back to them
Held behind glass
Much like themselves.
How painful to the ear
The sound of neighbours never seen become
The unpleasant numb throb of interruption 
Dragging you back to a world, you no longer partake in
Life beyond the room designated home
Somehow out of reach despite it's passing abundance 
Cruelly shuffling in your seat
Impatiently, incapably
Restless in perpetual stultification
A fidgeting stupor
Growing more anxious by the day
Of what? if not more time 
More dreaded time 
To be wasted
Traffic passes uncomfortably
Thinly mocking your static nature
As the world outside grows more perceivably hostile
From within a room untarnished by sleep or company
Where intrusive thoughts are left unchecked
To be the norm, a cycle of doubts and hate
Slowly eroding any motivations
The mind learns to poison itself
Through an inability to accept such dissonance
Settling into the veneer of psychosis
Lack of anything becomes all too real
Lucid moments bring despondency 
If not worse
Memory.
