Closing out the Summer Slices in style, we have one of the UK's favourite Dutchman, Julian Anthony 🤹 

Since entering the scene a few years back, Julian has gone from strength to strength with bookings and releases across some of the UK's and Netherlands best parties and labels including @pivrecords, @beeyourecords, @vbx-nu, @slapfunk-records and many more!

His style of 90's underground rollers dosed with a hint of modernised floor-fillers has catapulted him straight to the front end of the scene with no sign of slowing down anytime soon 🎹

Not much more is needed to be said other than sit back, relax and enjoy!

French powerhouse trio of Automatic Writing finally joins our mix series displaying their boundless love for electronic music and everything in between. Singularly Voigtmann and John Dimas have been major players on the underground house and techno scene for some time, with their respective labels Subsequent and Elephant Moon both doing important work for the more electro leaning end of the spectrum. They have of course joined forces with devastating effect and the result is VO1GT.M4S – a back to back that combines both artists’ deadly skills both in the studio and in the DJ booth. This combination has seen key performances from the pair in dual mode and they were teasing new joint material in their sets long before they dropped their double wax LP ‘Internal Transmission’ back in August last year on the pairs newly formed joint label Intermission Records. Audiojack are the UK DJ duo behind some of the biggest house records of the last two decades. Debuting with their iconic Robot on Leftroom in 2006, Audiojack arrived on the scene to critical acclaim. They soon signed to Ralph Lawson’s 2020vision label, where they released several notable records including Get Serious, Motion Sickness, No Equal Sides, and their debut album Radio.
 
After joining Damian Lazarus’s Crosstown Rebels in 2016, Audiojack had success with Turya, Reverie and Inside My Head topping charts, followed by second album Surface Tension: a conceptual story which features hit Feels Good, with Jem Cooke on vocals. Audiojack’s collaborations with Kevin Knapp on vocals have produced many big records including Vibrate, Implications and Stay Glued, whilst other guest vocalists have included LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang, Eli & Fur and Polarbear.
 
Audiojack also release on other labels such as Solid Grooves, DTFD, 8bit, Dirtybird, Shall Not Fade, Knee Deep in Sound, Hot Creations, and of course their Gruuv label. Audiojack’s remixes on labels like Diynamic and BPitch Control, and for artists such as Underworld, Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada and Hot Since 82 have proven their reliability as dancefloor focused hitmakers, while accolades include a nomination in DJ Mag’s Best of British awards and mixing the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
 
It was Audiojack’s passion for DJing which originally inspired them to produce, and after two decades behind the decks together they are masters of the back-to-back, with their energetic performances taking them to over 70 countries, including many of the world’s greatest clubs and festivals.

Silat Beksi is part of Tzinah Records and Mulen Records, where he chose to release his first album in 2014. After this, Silat Beksi goes vinyl-only, releases his personal imprint, forms pleasant collaborations, and is being played and supported worldwide at the best underground and unique after-hour moments. With Tzinah’s Family support and influence, as well as a house & techno approach to his DJ style, Silat Beksi is producing mesmerizing sets by blending breakbeat vibes and special (imprinted) textures with sounds made to lose oneself on a dance floor.

Bio:  In the endless sea of producers and selectors, only a few leave a lasting impression. They are the niche artists, individuals that push sonic boundaries into new territory with skill, and purpose. Over the last 5 years Silat Beksi has made quite the impression on minimal music lovers across the globe by doing just that. Utilising his own unique combination of rhythms &amp; special imprinted textures to craft emotive and energetically charged pieces of music. This was recognized early on with labels like Romania’s Tzinah Records, Moscow’s Body Parts and Ukranian imprint Mulen Records offering him a platform through which to release and refine his musical style. In 2014 this culminated in the release of Silat's first full length album, with ten wondrously diverse minimalist cuts seeing a digital release on Mulen. Having achieved this milestone, the talented producer dedicated himself to the perfection of his craft with a renewed determination, going vinyl only and launching his own imprint Modeight Records in 2016.

Fast forward to the present and Silat Beksi has amassed an enviable body of 12” releases on his journey so far. Cementing himself as one of the most inform talents in Europes underground scene with releases on labels like Germany’s almighty Pleasure Zone, Welsh imprint Dreams Are Not Inside, What You Want, Vivus Records and of course his own imprint Modeight. His sound continues to morph and develop, defying classification with it's heady combination of techno’s rhythmic sensibility, breakbeat influence and warm atmospheric textures that hypnotise and excite.

An iconic name that stretches back over a decade, Embliss returns to Proton Music courtesy of the thematic, "Soria Moria", further enhanced by remixes from Australian and Irish icons.

Firmly ensconced in his adopted Norwegian home, Dutch artist, Tim Brandwijk, has been a prominent figure in the progressive scene with his Embliss moniker since early work for breaks-centred, Morphosis Records. Subsequently going onto to release on industry leaders, Silk Music, Armada and Anjunadeep, Embliss' Proton Music history is centred around 2013's "Stronghold" EP and a glorious remix of Dousk's "Look Good Tonight". Taking its musical cues with haunting melodies and tension-filled keys that reference the "Soria Moria" castle from classic Norwegian fairy-tale, the title track is rich in atmosphere and saturated refrains, with audio glue provided by a metronomic beat, fizzing hi hat percussion and tightly locked bass groove. "Lone Wolf" immediately impress with its strong broken-beat rhythm that references a golden musical era. A huge bassline adds warmth and depth in equal measure while the rippling melodies central to the Embliss sound make their presence felt in impressive detail. Textured pads and a chorus of subtle, pitched effects add depth and intrigue in a track full of poise, craft and originality.

An Irish producer, of similar musical significance, Silinder, has been a consistently high-profile figure in the underground progressive scene. A regular on Proton Music since a December 2011 remix of Lank's "Needless Solution", a trio of themed original EPs saw "Corrupt", "Solas" and "Basement" bookmark the Silinder production career between 2012 and 2015. A clutch of blue-chip remixes for Dousk, Navar and Andre Sobota have showcased another skillset and it is a pleasure to welcome him back with a typically flowing remix of Embliss. Reworking "Soria Moria", Silinder cleverly interprets the central melodic and bass themes, transforming them with his trademark flair. Framed by a rapid-fire hi hat percussion and club-friendly rolling groove, his skill is to provide a swathe of new production material that reaches its zenith at the breakdown and captures the essence of Embliss' work while creating a stirring new interpretation.

Matter has become a regular contributor to the Proton Music catalogues since a July 2015 debut remixing Biologik. Often with fellow countryman, GMJ, the pair have featured with a host of original production material, centred around the "Superposition", "Osmosis" and "Interscope" EPs while solo outings via "Pronoia" and "We Are Dust" in May 2016 and November 2017 have seen the "deep synth lines and driving bass" from the Australian's studio light up the label. Returning after a solo remix of Hot TuneiK in August 2018, the typically varied sonic palette that he uses to paint such vivid aural pictures, find Matter reinvigorating "Lone Wolf" with a glorious array of motifs and symphonic elements that reach their denouement in an extended breakdown that showcases Matter's continually growing skill and ingenuity. A strong rhythmic pattern and mesmerising groove add further to work of pure imagination.

A new sonic venture from the Embliss imagination finds "Soria Moria" steeped in modern musical folklore with remixes from Silinder and Matter.

You Don't Have A Clue

If you're familiar with the minimal movement, with captivating basslines, with techy grooves and progressive-ish atmospheres, you can't not know the NTFO. The Timisoara-based duo has totally shaped the current sound, adding to the classic minimalistic groove structure a good dose of pulsating basslines, emotional synths and easy-to-dance-to elements. Over the last 10 years or so, they've released loads of beauties on labels such as PIV, Bondage, AdMaiora, Organic, Djebali and their own Sintope, which has rapidly become the perfect home base to showcase the "NTFO" sound. Having said that, we hope you'll enjoy this 1-hour journey from these two Romanian sound ambassadors.
