Most success stories happen after years of perseverance and hard work, values epitomized by underground favorite Show Louis. Undeterred by tragedies and setbacks that left him a two-time felon and a full-time single father, Show has made a name for himself as one of the most consistent artists on the Houston scene. Long removed from his days as a battle rap champion at Grambling State, Show has dropped several solid projects and has spent time behind the boards as a producer and engineer on many others. In 2012 his wonderfully dark masterpiece "Game of Thrones" was ranked 6th amongst underground projects by the Houston Press. The pain in his rough and tumble life is evident in every word, but he still somehow manages to make it something to be celebrated, a testament to strength and resilience. His latest collaboration with Rob Gullatte, "The Sophisticated Savages" showcases his growth as an artist and songwriter. Houston is quickly redefining itself, and when the city's rap resurgence is discussed, Show Louis definitely has to be part of the conversation.


Rapper Vicktory, born Vernell Caldwell, grew up in the north side of Houston, Texas started writing lyrics during his Junior year in college. He established is stage name after his Vicktory Athletic line in which he plans to lunch in 2019.  He took music more seriously after recording his first song In a professional studio titled Smoke Party ft KJ Da Youngsta in 2016. Through a period of that included going to school full time and working at Facility for young men that needed guidance help in tremendously to see life from a different point of few, He continued to develop his talent and begin to do showcases around Houston and begin to gain traction. On March 3rd 2017 Vicktory would go on to release his debut mixtape Rise of A king which features Jaymars, Bella, Nyasha and KJ the Youngsta which is available on all major streaming platforms. While trends come and go like the seasons, authenticity stays and never goes out of style. And like a classic black tie and black tuxedo combination, Juwan wears his truth to every setting on any beat.

A product of Māori and Samoan parents from Beach Haven, Aotearoa / New Zealand, Juwan, himself was born in Logan, Queensland and raised on the Gold Coast. He grew up listening to everything from Beach Haven’s own, Sir T, to the young GOAT, J. Cole, to the late great, Nipsey Hussle; absorbing their sounds, lyrics and messages that mixed with his own DNA to create something truly unique.

Adapting naturally to the early years of social media, Juwan expressed that uniqueness through freestyles that were uploaded online and were quickly shared around like the collection plate at church. They were freestyles filled with heart, wit, and conviction, and Juwan became the face of a new breed of MC you knew you had to keep an eye out for.

Throughout those same years, Juwan would hone his craft through two mixtapes, various features, and two well-received singles in the form of Preach and Home featuring Sam V. Juwan would also shift between Australia and New Zealand, reconnecting with his roots, family and the ever evolving hip hop scenes.

In 2022, we find Juwan back in the Sunshine State ready to unleash a new mixtape titled, Let the Story Begin… which is entirely produced by West Sydney’s bright futurist, DJ and triple j presenter, SOLLYY (1300, Becca Hatch, CD, Pania). The project is a modern day tribute to the golden mixtape era and a nod to artists like Alicia Keys, SWV, Soulja Boy and Six60. Accompanying the audio are video clips to match, giving the listener and viewer a deeper understanding of Juwan and his art.
