Die Bohème ist dabei weniger eine ästhetisch-kritische, als eine sozialgeschichtliche Kategorie.
Diese Lebensart ist vor allem in Künstler­kreisen, wie zum Beispiel bei Malern, Dichtern und Literaten, aber auch bei Studenten verbreitet.
