Il s’attache à mettre en valeur la culture club dans toute sa richesse et sa diversité, que ce soit à travers ses mixs, les soirées qu’il organise, ou ses choix éditoriaux sur les chaînes première et podcast de SSS. Désormais basé à Berne, il est résident sur Rinse France et Loose Antenna, développant sa pratique de DJ autour d’un profond attachement aux sons hybrides et à un éclectisme réfléchi, bien que ses sets gravitent toujours autour de la bass music, de la techno et du global club.

For this 5th Digtatrack session, we welcome Idris, a long-time member of the Paris-based collective SeekSickSound. He is dedicated to showcasing club culture in all its richness and diversity, whether through his mixes, the events he organizes, or his editorial choices on SSS's main and podcast channels. Now based in Bern, he is a resident on Rinse France and Loose Antenna, developing his DJ practice around a deep connection to hybrid sounds and a thoughtful eclecticism, though his sets always orbit around bass music, techno, and global club.

Armed with bass pressure and a knack for genre curveballs, Gent1e $oul lines up his next mischievous release on Fast Castle—stacking summery vibes, bass-heavy riddims, and dubwise 4x4 power into one dancefloor-ready package.

The title track Relic Heist plays wonky, carefree, and full of sunshine. A sly late-summer anthem with a cheeky leadline that’ll leave you smiling. Who said you can’t drop a summer tune in September?

On Armer Gnom—a collab with Finally Julius—Gent1e $oul dials in a slow-burning warm-up tool. Heavy bass pressure simmers under a screeching lead. The kind of track you send in early, softening the walls for the real damage to come.

Idles Dub goes full 4x4 steppers mode, a techno-dub fusion with rolling low end energy.

Line of Sight locks into deep soundsystem pressure: a classic dubstep-meets-digi-dub stepper for the heads, built to rattle the battlements with heavyweight bass. Alpine Sound then rework it into a stripped-down, energised version cut infusing extra digi-steppers flavour in their signature style.

“Minor Details EP” is a selection of tracks that seem like they wrote themselves. The EP name reflects the process of finishing the music, which consisted in polishing only minor details.
The EP ranges across the 130 - 145 bpm spectrum. At times it’s dark, dubbed out and trippy like “Without U”. “The Only One” is playful with a grimy bounce which lightens up the general menacing vibe of the EP. “No Filter” goes raw and fast: no BS, just full energy. “What It Takes” closes the EP by helping us land gently in groovy and sultry territories.

Insomniast – "Minor Details EP" – LOW002 snippets

Rose Holland is a Bristol-based producer, vocalist, and DJ creating a unique blend of vocal-led bass music. Honing her craft as Dutchie since 2017, this chapter marks a defining shift in her musical journey as she embraces her new alias and joins the Faux Poly family with her new Daybreak EP. Holland’s productions blend heavy-hitting lows with rich, layered vocals infused with field recordings and a wide range of influences. The result is a genre-blurring, emotionally resonant style that’s distinctly her own.

With recent sets  at Document Bristol, Shambala, Lost Horizon and a monthly show on SWU FM, her high energy DJ sets fuse bass-heavy breaks with leftfield UK bass, leading to a busy summer of shows at Boomtown, We Out Here and Glastonbury. Since releasing a two-tracker and a single in 2024, Rose has followed up with a remix EP featuring Faux Poly’s own Danny Goliger, plus remixes for Marla Kether and Illiterate. With ongoing support from BBC Radio 1, 6Music, Rinse FM, Jazz FM and more, Holland is quickly carving out a distinctive space in the cross-genre electronic landscape with her heady fusion of soulful bass music.

Words from Rose:
This EP explores field recordings (“Dawn” was originally made exclusively from found sounds), texture, and a continuation of experimenting with fusing my vocals with my production in creative and fun ways. 

The tracks are a mix of new and old ideas - yet somehow the lyrical themes ended up combining to express my general frustration at misogynistic behaviour and the extra barriers that exist for women working in the music industry - sparked by some of my experiences working as a live sound engineer. The whole project has been a cathartic and enjoyable process of creating something good out of less than ideal situations and I hope it can inspire and motivate women in music to keep doing their thing and men to re-asses their behaviour.

Hailing from Taipei, Taiwan, a city with a thriving nightlife that goes until the wee hours of the morning, Yuka grew up with the rise of the electronic music scene in Asia. Yuka cut her teeth as a producer and DJ in London in Camden Town.

While living in London, Yuka effortlessly bridged the underground to the mainstream in a male-dominated industry. She has opened for electronic artists like Cosmic Gate, The Crystal Method, Audien, Valentino Khan, Poolside, and Eric Prydz, and also live bands such as ALO, The California Honeydrops, and Rebirth Brass Band all while playing in premiere venues and nightclubs all over London, East Asia, and North America. Yuka sings and plays the Chinese flute, and DJ’s regularly with live musicians who play the Guzheng (古箏), violin, bass guitar, trumpet, and didgeridoo.

Yuka’s career highlights include: playing on the Insomniac Camp OG stage at EDC Las Vegas, playing at Ministry of Sound (London), and playing at Oil (Shenzhen).
 
In 2019, she founded the artist exchange program Nu Tekno and has been hosting events regularly since 2020.  Nu Tekno currently has monthly residencies at the Endup, Lion’s Den and Mars Bar in San Francisco.
