Tokyo native, Yukibeb, has only been making and posting her mixes on Soundcloud since 2011, but has quickly amassed global attention for the eclectic vibes and moods she conveys through her selections. Both intimate and sensual, the sounds she fuses represent her hip hop, future beats, and r&b sensibilities. The diaphanous soundscapes she creates for her hungry listeners reflect the intricate sounds that compliment the complex and fluorescent backdrop of the Tokyo underground. While she holds the attention of many, Yukibeb genuinely wishes to bring visibility to lesser known artists and give them a larger platform for recognition. Headstrong and opinionated, she doesn’t really care for hype, follows her strong intuition and instincts to curate her unique sound. Citing major influences like J Dilla, Aaliyah, Tokimonsta and fellow labelmates Ms. Beb is poised to pursue her passion as a DJ first in her hometown of Tokyo and next worldwide.

Sweden’s favourite house label Local Talk return with a new LP compiled by one of the imprints most beloved artists Crackazat, and he has been given special permission remix and rework a selection of label's back catalogue for their edit's series.

Previous artists who have compiled a reworks album for the series include HNNY, Jacques Renault plus Kyodai, and this is perhaps one of the best yet.

Ben Jacobs better known to music fans as Crackazat, is a young talent originally from Bristol in the UK. Early in his career he was the official warm up act for Floating Points and he shares a similar sound fusing upbeat jazzy chords with house shuffling percussion.

Local Talk have become synonymous with breaking new talent such as HNNY that later goes onto achieve big things, and Crackazat is one such artist who has used the label as a spring board to kick start an accomplished career.

Crackazat has now featured tracks and remixes on other labels including Josh Wink's Ovum, Joey Negro's Z Records and Derrick Carter’s Classic. Early in his career he also released on the infamous Future Boogie, and a number of his Local Talk tracks have been licenced to prestigious compilations compiled by brands like Defected.

Featuring everyone from Terrence Parker to Soulphiction, the Local Talk back catalogue has original music from many of house music’s greatest artists who sit alongside fresh talent such as Jaxx Madicine and Marcel Lune.

Choosing tracks that he either loves of feels he can improve with a bit of careful editing, Crackazat has spent time hand picking a selection of tracks that showcase the Local Talk back catalogue in all its dazzling glory.

For those already familiar with some of the original versions on this release, it’s a fantastic chance to rediscover a classic in a revised format, and for those new to the label prepare to hear some of the best house music out there with strong influences from other genres such as jazz, funk and soul.

Peace Everyone…..

Today is February 7th, 2013….which means it is the birthday of one of the greatest Hip Hop Producers of all time, James Yancey aka J Dilla.  Today he would've been 39 years old.  It is incredible that every month of February for the last 8 years that Dilla's life & music is celebrated around the whole world.  It is also bittersweet because he was taken from us in such an early age when it looked like he was really get ready to take the world by storm.  I've been very lucky & blessed to be part of his close circle of friends when he moved to Los Angeles.  Not only was he was a talented individual and one of the nicest & humble guy I ever met, he was also a private person…..you definitely don't want to get on his nerves…LOL!!

I know there's a lot of Dilla Tribute mixes out there, and me personally, I don't think there's anyone that can out top a Dilla mix that was made by my fellow Beat Junkie & the 3rd Member of Jaylib, the Funky President himself, J.Rocc.  The only one who can possible come close would our good friend, Houseshoes.  I already made 2 mixes a few years ago, but I was inspired again to work on another one.  I tried to finish the mix late last night but got real tired….I just finally finished this mix before the day was over.  I definitely was trying not to repeat songs like I did on my previous Dilla mixes but sometimes you can't help going back to his classic catalogue.  Anyways, here's my third installment of my "J Dilla Whatupdoe" mixes, a 30 minute vibe mix.  Unfortunately, we also lost another Musical legend a few days ago….Mr. Donald Byrd, and i actually added the original "Think Twice" song to the mix as well as Dilla's version, in paying homage to the legendary musician.

Rest in Peace to Donald Byrd…..and Rest In Peace & Happy Birthday to one of the greatest….J Dilla.
