Yuko, the jazz singer shares her absolute love of both Brazilian and contemporary jazz music. Full of improvisation, light and colour, her delightful interpretations are exquisitely individual .

Tracks include compositions by many of her favourite stellar artists such as Hermeto Pascoal, Egberto Gismonti, Ivan Lins, Kenny Wheeler and Norma Winston alongside her own co-written originals.

Perhaps due to her Japanese background, there is an essence of the Japanese philosophy, "wabi sabi" - a pursuit of embracing both the imperfection and transience of life, flowing effortlessly through her music.

Certainly being resident in the UK for nineteen years and completing a Masters in Jazz at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, has enabled Yuko to develop a Japanese minimalistic approach to her music that is entirely unique.

‘Nao Nasci Pra Jogador’ is another long-term, firm favourites of ours. Tough uptempo MPB-samba grooves and a classic vocal to match. Cesar is a prolific composer/singer and recorded many albums and singles for labels including CID, RCA and Odeon.

‘Princesa Negra de Angola’ is a stomping uptempo disco-funk crossover from the super-proflic samba-rock legend, Bebeto. A brilliant record, originally available on a 4-track compacto and on his ‘Esperanças Mil’ LP.
