"My creativity is constantly ebbing and flowing. I go through months of experimentation, learning new tools, banging my head up against the wall with endless versions of tunes I’m just not happy with. And then, if I’m lucky, I hit a patch of several tunes coming together quickly. This EP was exactly that: three tunes that came together completely unexpectedly in a relatively short period of time. All of the new techniques finally melded with my mindset after a long stint of frustration and unproductiveness. No v27c, no overthinking it, just pure vibes and pieces falling into place. I had so much fun making these and I wish I knew the secret sauce for hitting that sweet spot in the studio regularly. I guess you just gotta power through the muck until the inspiration ambushes you and enjoy it while it lasts."

Microfunk Music has released a new bleep and bass EP from Bop and Diagram, also known as Abstract Elements. With releases on Exit Records, Auxiliary, and Invisible, the duo began their musical journey over a decade ago and became an important piece of the Autonomic puzzle. The '667' EP showcases a masterclass in post-minimal drum and bass production, featuring an intricate interplay of crunchy drums and sharp percussion, set against a backdrop of acid synths and sub-bass frequencies.

A mix of two halves — two separate sets from a recent YUKU night at Planeta Za in Prague — one at the very beginning, the opening set, and the other one around peak time. It's imperfect, improvised, and recorded from the club environment, but I never prepare mixes anyway, so they are always imperfect and exploratory, and I embrace that :)

Beyond The Veil tells the story of an uncertain future, shaped by forces that are out of our control, like a voiceless menace acting as muse to humanities dark patterns. We want these tracks to make you feel like there’s no escape. We also explored working with vocals and were lucky to get Riko Dan on board. He really fits perfectly with the mood of the album.

"This mix includes music from producers that played an important role in the making of our LP « Beyond The Veil ». We wanted to make a mix of tracks by people who influence us. It purposely doesn’t feature too many of our own material. Instead, some of the sounds from the tracks have been used to complement other people’s music.

It also features some sound design and subtle layers of textures added on top of it, as if it was all treated like a sort of remix or re-interpretation. It blurs the line between full tracks, abstract noise and textures, hopefully adding more than a blend of music.

We hope you’ll enjoy this."
