i like this track but with a slightly different mix it could maybe be at another level.  Uk Garage style if you know what i mean.

This one has a lot more energy than last month. I'm digging it.

I dig the staccato drums. The glitchy keys and guitar bits.

The incorporation of vocal samples makes me wish we could do that all the time in OSC.

Very harmonious cover that fits the music perfectly. I really like the use of the vocal samples. It sounds like a flashback of the day's conversations that come to mind. And I love that crooked Blade Runner pad. I like it

Sometimes when I let tracks run "in the background", different qualities come forward. Yours has some wonderful qualities, very eerie, lively, mysterious and unique somehow.

I like that you set this cool atmosphere right at the start and stayed with it. The use of vocals is subtle and very effective. You've got some cool creepy cover art too.

i really like what you've done with the drums, nice groove and sounds.

One Synth Challenge #189: Myth 1.5 by Dawesome

This is my submission to the #kvraudio #OneSynthChallenge #188 featuring the VST Synth Six Traq from fullbucket.
All sounds are coming from the Synth acompanied by a number of moderate tone shaping, mixing and mastering fx. All fx free or built into the DAW. DAW is Bitwig 5.2.x. No Samples. No Postprocessing after the audio export.

As I think of my 14-year-old daughter, I go back to my own childhood. To my dusty, dimly lit room where I had a small synthesiser and an echo machine on some sort of an altar. I go back to my hopes and fears, my expectations, my goals, my beliefs and my love for music. Often too little time to make my own music because I couldn't stop listening to Bach, TD, Klaus Schulze, Jarre, Vangelis, Pink Floyd and Todd Rundgren.

I recognise so much in her. My beautiful 14-year-old daughter with all her hopes and fears and her love for music.

The year is 1981, and the disco is alive with the vibrant energy of Halloween night. The dance floor is a sea of costumes, from classic vampires and witches to the latest pop culture icons. The DJ, dressed as a futuristic robot, proudly showcases his brand new Roland TB-303, a synthesizer that promises to revolutionize the sound of the night. As he tweaks the knobs, the room fills with hypnotic, pulsating beats that make the crowd move in unison.

In the corner of the disco, an arcade machine stands as silent sentinel, its screen glowing with the sight of a yellow, cheese-like character being chased by ghosts. The game, a recent hit, draws a small crowd of enthusiasts eager to beat the high score. The clinking of quarters and the excited shouts of players blend seamlessly with the music, creating a symphony of sound that defines the era.

A group of friends take turns at the arcade machine, laughing and cheering each other on. Among them, a few are dressed as ghosts, their white sheets fluttering as they move. One person stands out in a bright yellow cheese costume, drawing amused glances and playful comments from the crowd. The DJ, noticing their enthusiasm, decides to mix in some of the game’s iconic sounds into his set, causing a ripple of nostalgia and excitement to spread through the crowd. 

As the night progresses, a girl dressed as a pink ghost finds herself dancing closer to the yellow cheese. Their laughter is infectious, and their eyes meet frequently, each glance lingering a little longer than the last. The chemistry between them is undeniable, as they move closer, their hands brushing and smiles widening. The music swells, and they lose themselves in the rhythm, feeling as if they are the only two people in the room. As the final song plays, they share a knowing smile, realizing that this magical Halloween night has brought them together in a way they never expected. With a promise to meet again, they part ways, each carrying the memory of this unforgettable night in their hearts.

Pushed and prodded lightly at track level by TDR Nova, HOFA Gain, Kazrog KClip Zero, and Flux Bittersweet. 

Delayed to a fair extent by Hy-Delay 4.

Reverberated by Oril River, Protoverb, and ADverb. Assisted by TDR Nova, HOFA Pan,  A1 Stereo Control, and Flux Bittersweet.

Some more light prodding at the master level by TDR NOVA, Flux Bittersweet and A1 Stereo Control. Louderized using Limiter No 6.

Some of the fun experiments in this track:
* All effects in-synth. No mastering effects. LUFS low to minimize clipping.
* The track features 3 different main time signatures with some effort into seamless transitions.
* Melody / arp lines time warped with non-linear time-warping homebrew scrips (sinus and exponential time mapping).
* Multi-instrumental 1/8 echo delay. I.e. the delays are using different Myth instruments.
* Tempo is linearly changing between 90 and 135 BPM during most of the track.
* Sound design. Just random knob turning to taste, LFO stuff and effects.
* All EQs and reverbs are in-synth.
* Most volume mixing with MIDI velocity. (not 100% though).

My Entry: "Centuries". Made of OSC 189

Style: Electronic Soundtrack Circa. With Pop, Classical and Drone
elements.

~8 instances of MYTH VST3 in EXT64 beta (see screenshot at KVR thread).
~1 custom sample imported in MYTH for 2 drums sounds.
~free VST effects:  RSS EQ302, EfektorGQ36, LoudMax64.

What about this MYTH synth? Surely it sounds good, but of the many
'mangling' resynthesis features some I found too grainy or useless, sounding to me
like many alternative types of harmonic distortions. Therefore too
expensive as CPU load for the actual results, those could be replaced
with focused external plug-in effects, in studio use.
What I liked most of MYTH is the easy adding of envelopes and
synced LFOs to modulate the parameters, very good.
