This is a a recreation of a set I played back in April for the legendary Roller crew. If you are from Perth, you'll know Roller through and through. 

If not, then let me school you.

They've been running drum n bass events in Perth for over 20 years and have built and fostered a scene here that is rivalled by none other in the world.

That being said - I don't play drum n bass... I do, however, know the guys who run Roller and have been doing their artwork and design for the past several years.

So anyways, they asked me to play. I said "I don't play dnb.." They said "nah, we need someone to open up the night and transition into dnb." I said "hmmmm ok, as long as you can honour my cocaine rider." They said"no". I said "I'll do it!"

Hollow Bones Drum Club - Ep:07 - Wrecking Trains

The follow up single to 2024's well received debut, 'Medicine Man', Water from the Stars reflects a more upbeat side of the Temples, whilst revealing further depth to their songwriting and sound. Water from the Stars is about tectonic, unexpected changes in life where you find the will to stand up and face the storm. It’s in those moments, lost and fighting for life that we find ourselves.

Following on from the the themes of Medicine Man, WFTS takes us to another level, building upon an intro drum break, leading into sparse, melodic verses and finally cavalcading into lush choruses. Evolving through a bassline breakdown and a half time build into a climactic conclusion of vocals and reversed guitars.

Recorded with Sam Petit at Fatback Studios and produced by Sam and the band themselves, Water from the Stars is the first of 2 singles to drop in early 2025, before an EP and subsequent launch coming mid-year. Taking off the first 6 months of 2025 from playing live to focus on songwriting and developing their sound is already paying dividends with much more to come from Red Temples.

Tilt came from a turbulent period of my life. I’d been stuck in a rut for a long while, which had slowly eroded my self esteem. Suddenly I found myself free from that routine, which led to spiral of hedonism.

Tilt is really about chasing a high, finding that intense connection with someone, and that become addictive. 

Recording that song song was a cathartic experience, being able to collect and centralise all these thoughts in one place.
