Trapdoor & Hillydilly present this week's 3am series courtesy of Daktyl with a sensuous remix of Aquilo's 'You There'.  
The London based artist has been busy of late, launching his new group alias "Shiloh" earlier this month but also finding time to drop releases as Daktyl on DieHigh records, Mad Decent & Run The Trap. Keeping up the consistent work rate, it's no surprise that he's currently on a U.S tour playing in San Francisco, L.A & more. 
The track itself plays out as an elegant composition, finely balancing  vocals with a mellowing backdrop of production. 'You there' acts as a perfect follow up in the 3am series & reminds us there is a lot we haven't heard from the uprising talent named Daktyl.

Disparate producers with complimentary sounds, Evil Needle and Sivey met in an online beat community 6 years ago and to this day have never met in real life. On June 24, 2014 they present their first official EP, 'Constructive Interference', to the world. 'Constructive Interference' was created over the span of 3 years and embodies the unique soundscapes of each producer.

Evil Needle, based in Strasbourg France [just on the border of Germany] pulls inspiration from traditional hip hop, neo-soul and trap music while seamlessly weaving in open synths and chunky chord progressions. Manchester, UK-based Sivey incorporates soulful beat-oriented music with what he calls "emotional highs and lows that are still musically stimulating" adding a beautifully uptempo sensibility.

The two come together to create a big sound vibration that is reminiscent of the round sound of vinyl – this time in a digital version.

Reminiscent nostalgia springs to mind when we listen to ‘Distant Memories’, a seamless expression of old-school jazz roots & new age production.
Almost a dozen layers of trumpet are layered upon each other, accompanied by a minimal drum beat & flowing chord changes to create a short yet succinct piece that requires repeat listening on the regular. 
The track is a collaborative piece between BrassTracks, a Brooklyn based trumpeter /producer / drummer duo & Alexander Lewis, Multi instrumentalist / producer recently graduated from Manhattan School of Music Jazz Program. 
We’re delighted to give this one away for free as an early xmas present ! Heres hoping this isn’t the last link up between these guys.

We’ve had MISOGI’s ‘Occult’ LP on repeat for the past few months. It’s a careful blend of the dark, distorted production that leaves you slightly hypnotised & wondering where the last 30 minutes went. 
And although his new single ‘Lantana’ is slightly less dark, the track still entrances with a flourish of melody, driven by a intricate drum patten & sturdy bass line. 
It definitely requires multiple listens to really admire the little delicacies throughout, as the Dubai based producer is set to build upon his impressive catalogue along side his upcoming collective HURT next year.
