In 2018, Lil Peep released Life Is Beautiful — a song that’s always stuck with me because of how brutally honest it is. He lays out painful realities with numb delivery, flips it into “isn’t life beautiful / isn’t life horrible,” and ends with some of the most gut-punch questions in music: if I try s*icide, would you stop me? Would you help me get a grip or would you drop me?

As someone who’s struggled with those feelings, this track has always felt like a mirror. And knowing Peep’s passing, those words hit even harder now.

My remix takes that honesty and leans into the darkness. The original had a mellow, detached vibe. But seven years later, everything feels heavier — shootings, political violence, fear all around us. I wanted my version to reflect what it feels like to carry that weight in 2025, while still holding onto the fragile thread of hope Peep left in the song.

This is also part of Pandemic — my ongoing project to process mental health struggles, gun violence, and my own fears through music. It’s not about glorification; it’s about facing the demons we all live with, and hopefully offering connection to anyone who needs to know they’re not alone.

Whenever someone asks me what I've been listening to I always say @IGLOOGHOST. This kid has something special. The type of artist spirit that outlasts trends and lives outside of genre barriers. He's making his own world, both sonically, visually (he does all of his own art and is currently studying design), and also through text (check some of his amazing answers in our recent interview). 

If I had to bet all my chips on one act to break out in 2016 and make some serious waves in his own stylistic lane it would be IGLOOGHOST. His releases through UK imprint Activia Benz were a bizarre and refreshing hello, and his quick signing to Flylo's Brainfeeder, where he released his debut Chinese Nu Year EP, solidified his place as one of the most interesting acts in the world of music right now.
