In 1993 a group of like minded DJ's got together and opened the first ever Asian weekly club night in London called Bombay Jungle, offering Hip Hop R n B and BHANGRA, yes bhangra in London and weekly. This mix is the first part of our Bombay Jungle 20th anniversary tribute. Its especially dedicated to those 1000's that came through the doors of Bombay Jungle, later to be called Hot n Spicy. The mix includes tracks with the beats that were played in those days.

Stepping up for a special entry in the Members Mix series we have Balamii and Day Timers affiliate Yung Singh providing us with the Sounds of Punjabi Garage. Peep what he has to say about the mix and the importance of the underground Punjabi scene of the late 90s/early 00s:

“I really wanted to put together a mix that showcased the full range of Punjabi garage, from proper speedy garage to 4x4 with loads of swing, proper shuffly 2-step ,and more contemporary releases. There are tunes in here from the 90s, early 00s all the way to brand new and unreleased bits. One hour of 100% garage from 100% Punjabi producers/vocalists. 

This mix is really an ode to the late 90s/early 00s Asian Underground movement that was so important for mine and my older sibling's generation - one of the main reasons I got into music and DJing was mostly because of listening to my older siblings playing garage/jungle/house when I was growing up, with Punjabi garage my first love! “
